Sundance Resort Atami — Hotel in Atami

We came here for a week as Wyndham Owner, from overseas. Be aware that there is a 1,000Y surcharge per night.

After arriving by train at Kinomiya Station, we walked to the hotel. It is a steep down and up, maybe 15 min. If you're not fit or have mobility challenges, catch a taxi from the station.

I've taken pictures showing directions if walking. The first indication is the sign on the pole, english at top. Go past the carparks to get to the entrance.

Inside the decor is a bit dated, and little kids sound like elephants when running around. If you can get past this you will enjoy your stay.

The rooms have a TV. We managed to miracast Netflix. Netflix or Prime won't load up through the TV remote buttons. The room had a dehumidifier, and the aircon worked well. Room tea and coffee are refreshed daily along with hairbrush, razor, toothbrush, and towels. Powered creamer is supplied, not liquid.

There is a small shop in the foyer where you can buy supplies and gifts. You can go to an Aeon supermarket to buy food, pharmaceuticals, clothes etc. It's in walking distance. I'll caveat walking by saying, easy down, and steep return.

In the hotel there are some good facilities. DVDs, popcorn every afternoon (1 cup), massage chairs, activities catering for kids and nightly movies. Washing and dryer facilities for clothes are shared by all guests, with soap/softener supplied. You can also cook your own food in the oven or grill.

The restaurant offers breakfast and dinner that you need to pre-order. Other items can be ordered throughout the day. An izakaya is a good Japanese experience for dinner, too.

An onsen is open in the morning from 6am and then again in the evening till midnight. I've posted some pictures. You share this with other hotel guests, segregated by M/F as bathing is naked. Place would definitely do with some renovation but it is still very clean and comfortable. Located on a hill so walking is definitely a bit of challange but very nice neighbourhood. I had a room with private bathroom, spacious and comfortable. There is a rooftop which with a bit of love has a great potential for an relaxing evening with great views. There is also hot spa (male and female) which is a bit dated but relaxing and very handy....was going there every evening before going to sleep. Big common area to watch TV or meet other guests. 本来は会員ポイント制のリゾートホテルですが、一部を一般枠として旅行会社に提供しており、今回は外資系OTAを通じて予約しました。花火開催日ということもあり予約時点では 少々 お高く感じましたが、2階、3階の部屋から ならびに屋上から花火が正面に見えて、混んでいる会場近くに行くことなく 寒さも最低減に冬の花火見学ができました。本当に眺めの良いホテルです。1階のお部屋は樹木等の関係で眺めに制限あると思われます。 宿泊料金に関しては食事内容が充実した上位コースでしたので、宿泊後は妥当に感じました。1泊2食で予約の際は どの食事内容が含まれるのかプラン内容の確認が必要です。 少ないスタッフさんでフロントやレストランを兼務されている様で、慌ただしく動いていらっしゃいました。ご近所の主婦の方々が運営している様な印象です。滞在中 支配人・マネージャーさん的な方は見受けなかったです。ドアマンもベルも居ません。失礼のない程度にフレンドリーです。接遇・おもてなし・温泉街の雰囲気を期待する方には不向きな施設かもしれませんが、小さいながらも最低限の設備整いゆっくり過ごすことができます。小さな宿なので 食事・風呂・部屋・駐車場・屋上への移動も少ない移動距離で動けます。年配者には大切な項目です。 熱海の温泉にしては お湯のあたりが優しく、湯温も好適です。大浴場のみで、家族風呂・露天風呂・サウナ等はありません。 大浴場の天井には、水滴がポタポタ落ちてこない様に樋が目立たない様に縦横無尽に取り付けてあるのは、他にはあまり見かけない良心設計です。 卓球台、映画DVD上映、トレーニングマシーン、マッサージチェア、無料プップコーン、製氷器、ランドリー等 小規模ながら本当に一通り揃っています。 来宮駅から徒歩10分程度ですが、起伏が激しいです。ご年配の方や大きな荷物がある方はタクシー利用がおすすめです。来宮駅前から初乗り680円でした。ホテル周辺は住宅地と墓地でお店は全くありません。事前に準備の上 チェックインをオススメします。下界の繁華街まで徒歩15分くらいで行けますが、帰りは超〜 登り坂です。ホテル前の道路は狭く普通車でも車幅がある3ナンバークラスは注意が必要です。地下駐車場は4台、ホテル前は10台くらい駐車可能です。 1泊2食付きで「特選会席金目鯛のコース料理」の夕食は どれも美味しく1つ1つの量が少なく感じるものの 最後にはお腹いっぱいになりました。食べきれなかった釜飯はラップを貸していただきセルフ「おにぎり」にて部屋に持ち帰りOKでした。フードロス対策もバッチリです。デザートのババロアがまた絶品でした。朝食は特段の個性はありませんが、こちらも美味しく...
