Gallery Cafe Utrillo — Restaurant in Hakone

Good service, beautiful atmosphere, but not comfortable. There is no button to call an employee, so you have to wait until the staff comes up on their own but this is not the main problem. The menu has few photos, the name of coffee that not everyone can understand. I wanted to order coffee with milk, but there were no names like “latte” or “cappuccino”, the names of coffee that I had never heard. The price of coffee and a sandwich is quite expensive, but the sandwich was very tasty. The same coffee can be bought at a supermarket much cheaper. We had lunch here, recommended by Google Maps. Very friendly owner who has taken over the business from his mother. Seems like the friendly neighborhood place. They have an English menu and I had the shrimp and vegetable salad and others had a sandwich and curry rice that was both with meat and veggies. This did not look like a place that was only for tourists. Decor was like a well kept museum. Service was great. They serve beer which was a delight.

They accept only cash, so I had to go across the road to Lawson to draw some cash. Nice friendly conversation with the owner made the visit...

Very cosy place, interesting like having lunch in ancient era , the owner speaks very good English, let us the feeling like we r guests in his home... everything Wes delicious The chicken cury the toast the baked cheese cake and the coffee was excellent and fresh I pay attention that all the dining around us just wiped the cary sauce with the toast... so i did so and that is very recommended...
