HakubaMAHOROBA — Hotel in Hakuba

We spent four wonderful days in Hakuba where we stayed at the Mahoroba. The accommodations are superb. Three ample bedrooms on the first floor, and a huge family room and kitchen on the second floor. Amenities include a washing machine and all the equipment and kitchen are modern and up to date. There is also a giant heated bathtub for a good soak after a long day of skiing. The view from the living room out to the mountains is breathtaking. The central location allows easy access to restaurants and bars, as well as the ski shuttles, which take you to all the local mountains. Most of all, I want to commend the incredible kindness and service of the owner Makoto. He offered to take us in his car to various spots around town, including the central bus terminal. Most of all, when we needed to ship our ski gear back to Tokyo, Makoto kindly helped us fill out our forms and took us to the local Yamato processing center. Such a kind man! A perfect place to enjoy Hakuba! Mahoroba is immaculate and well-appointed with an incredible view of the Hakuba mountain range. Our family of six enjoyed everything the home had to offer, including a spacious kitchen with all that you need to prepare meals, beautiful rooms with very comfortable beds, and a soaking tub perfect to relax after a day of skiing. Ski rentals, shuttles, restaurants and bars are all within a short walk.

Makoto, the owner, is extremely helpful and friendly! What a great guy! Among other things. he helped us get some very large and heavy ski bags shipped back to Haneda airport in Tokyo. He’s a perfect host!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hakuba Mahoroba. The apartment was clean, very comfortable and had everything we could need to enjoy our stay in Hakuba. Ayako went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. It was conveniently located across the road from the Hakuba Base Camp where you can take advantage of the free bus service to access the Happo One Ski resorts.
