For the price paid, it was definitely not worth the stay. It was more like an inn than a hotel. I could have stayed at a better one nearby if I knew this was the type of room I am getting.
Reviews were good online and it was just a 3 mins walk from where our friend's accommodation were, that's why we decided to book this place. Nothing, but regrets.
The bed were so bad we could feel the coil spring, my husband and I ended up sharing 1 of the twin bed that were combined together. The room was so dusty that i developed very bad rashes. I went to the reception and showed them my rashes and they didn't even bother to offer to change my room. Mind you, they knew we were there for our honeymoon.
Requested for cleaning and changed of sheets but it was not done as I purposely marked it so that I will know if the sheet was changed. Feedback to the reception and they came up to the room to change the sheets and vacuum the room.
I gave this one star for the help they rendered before I got this hotel booked and i appreciated it.
I would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel, because, for the priced, you can stay at a...
Read morePerfect location surrounded by restaurants ! Best street in Hakuba - Bus pick ups to all different mountains close to out front - Breakfast was included which is awesome to have before you go off to ski for the day and not have to go out and find a place to eat - The staff were fantastic in every way and Olivia the manager is outstanding and goes above and beyond to assist you with whatever you need - I left my phone down the road at a restaurant and had to catch the bullet train early next day and did not have time to grab my very expensive new phone as they were closed early morning. I contacted Olivia and after we worked together to get the phone delivered back to the Shakespeare hotel, she personally went to the post office and packaged it up with bubble wrap and made sure it was secure in a box and sent it back to me in Australia at no charge to myself - I offered to pay but she said "No all part of the service" . I had it in my hand again 8 days later - OUTSTANDING !!!!!!! The staff are fantastic - The rooms are great and super clean - Highly...
Read moreGreat location and a cosy iconic experience for a snow skiing trip. We had a group of six and for four of us the mattresses had visible springs protruding out which were very uncomfortable to sleep on, two of us ended up with a bruise from sleeping on those beds. The driver conveniently had 'influenza' during the new years break which made to and from the train station extremely difficult and unbudgeted for, unsure of other times but we waited an hour at the station and paid 3500 yen each way which should've been deducted from the hotel cost. The hotel staff are generally extremely helpful though their patience can wear very thin if you ask too many questions. I recommend obtaining second opinions when asking for advice from the main staff member. She had advised on multiple occasions that there were no cabs but we went to another hotel and received a number to get cabs on demand, we regretted not finding this out earlier (among...
