A proper Japanese dinner in Echoland - husband and I were able to get seated quickly soon after opening as they don’t take reservations, which was great bc we were hungry for Sukiyaki post-snowboarding.

We got sat at the bar top and service was prompt and semi-formal - it’s a nice quiet date spot instead of other rambunctious establishments.

Ordered the sukiyaki with udon and 2 raw eggs (a must for dipping), 2 orders of salmon sashimi bc it was so good with their wasabi, a super tender and flavorful yakitori and their prawn tempura special. The sukiyaki broth was not overly sweet or concentrated and was served with A5 Wagyu already which melted in our mouths.

We also had a highball and chuhai cocktail which were refreshing - the cost was $85 USD which was very reasonable for the quality and amount of food and drink we ordered. Would...

Absolutely amazing dining experience! The food was incredibly delicious and the service was wonderful from incredibly courteous staff. Our group sat at the bar for dinner and it was amazing to watch the chef prepare our food so beautifully. All of the menu options were delicious and a great size, I would consider it good value for money considering the quality of the ingredients. All the food was prepared in front of us and came out very quickly, the sashimi melted in your mouth and the Gyoza’s were delicious not to mention the quality of cut of wagyu beef we grilled in front of us! Every menu item we tried was really well done.

I would recommend this restaurant to groups, couples, families and people from all over who are looking to enjoy a wide array of Japanese cuisine in a beautiful and relaxed environment. Definitely worth...

When I went to Japan in December, I spent 1 week in Tokyo and 1 week in Hakuba. This is my favorite restaurant I went to for multiple reasons. The ingredients and food were all so incredibly fresh and flavorful, the service was incredible, and the restaurant itself is super clean and relaxing to be in after a long day of skiing. The owner, his dog, and his wife are all so sweet. Despite only having limited time in the area, we ate here 3 times after being disappointed with other restaurants. We walked in each time and were welcomed with open arms and delicious food. Its been months since Ive eaten here and I am still thinking about it. I will be back the next time I visit Echoland for sure! The prices were also super...

Great Japanese tradition decor where you can sit on tatami (there’s also the option of normal seating), full English menu, reasonable pricing. We just walked in at dinner time and were fortunate enough to be squeezed in between their reservations. This restaurant just opened last year according to the staff, hence the lack of reviews? Teriyaki chicken was well seasoned and seared. Dumplings were delicious, pan fried on the bottom nicely. Grilled beef “yakiniku” was again well seasoned, presented just like the menu. Overall we had an enjoyable dining experience here, we would only hope that the servings were a bit bigger (maybe standard? for Japanese, but small for Australian standard).
