Our family of four had a wonderful time in Hakuba staying at Summit Views. The staff there are incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They certainly contributed to our enjoyment of Hakuba, which is a wonderful place to ski and explore.
The hotel is conveniently located, with the gondola, the bus station, a bunch of restaurants, and, maybe most importantly, the Lawson all within short walking distance.
We stayed in a family room that had three standard beds and a fold out bed as well. All were comfortable, and the room was big enough that we didn’t feel cramped in there.
The bathroom is one of those Japanese prefabricated units with integrated tub, sink, and toilet. A little small for my two teenagers and their pile of hair and skincare products, but certainly serviceable.
The onsen at the hotel is wonderful, and is especially nice after a good day of skiing. Each floor has a small coffee machine that also dispenses hot and cold water as well as hot chocolate. We all enjoyed having a little hot chocolate on the way back to our room after skiing.
Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was included with our room and there were lots of choices. Everything was decent quality, and there were new items every day. We didn’t get a chance to try the izakaya at the hotel but heard from others that it’s excellent.
I’ll end this review with a quick story that is an example of the friendly and helpful service provided by Summit Views. We had hoped to send our bags to the hotel via Yamato bus missed the cutoff so we had to bring them with us on the train from Tokyo. I contacted Summit Views from our bus from Nagano to Hakuba and they picked us (and our 6 suitcases!) up from the bus station when we arrived. So much easier than having to carry everything! For our return home, Summit Views told us that Yamato only takes cash (we would definitely not have known this otherwise), and drove us to the depot and waited while we had our luggage prepared to be sent on to the airport. The team at Summit Views went above and beyond throughout our stay and we had a fantastic time in...
Read moreThe hotel is less than five minutes walk from Happo Bus Terminal, this is where you catch the bus to the different snow resorts. Restaurants and snow rentals are also minutes away. If you want to venture into Echoland or other restaurants in the vicinity, the hotel has a free shuttle service that provides drop off and pick up. | |The staff members are very friendly. Special mention to Dana and Yu as they are the ones I dealt with mostly. They were lovely, extremely helpful and were able to make great recommendations throughout our stay. So, thank you ladies for making our stay an enjoyable one!|Breakfast selection was great. I enjoyed the soups which varied daily. |There’s a hot bath facility that I made use of, it’s great especially after a day at the slopes. |All in|I couldn’t fault this...
Read moreThe hotel was cozy and close to happo-one resort, the happo bus station, and a few ski/snowboard equipment rentals. I stayed in a traditional tatami room - I enjoy sleeping on the mats with just a comforter but there were mattresses available in the closet for those who prefer it.The best part of my stay was the customer service. I had to drop some luggage off before check-in to hit the slopes, and when I returned, not only was my room ready for me, my luggage was taken up as well.In the evening another staff member enthusiastically help me set up the ironing machine as I needed to quickly steam a shirt, and provided recommendations on places to eat.Highly recommend a stay...
