Kasuga Ryokan — Hotel in Hiroshima

We stayed here for four nights. This is a rather old ryokan that may need some renovation. Still, everything worked fine. Friendly staff, good Japanese style breakfast. They offer it between 6-8 AM only so we started every day somewhat earlier than usual. Rooms are very simple but the futons were very comfortable. Airco was working ok and was silent. Shared bathroom and toilets were kept very clean.|The location is excellent, just 150 m from nearest tram- and bus stops. Atomic Dome and Hiroshima Memorial Museum are within a few minutes walk. Many restaurants and shops nearby.|Highly recommended if simplicity and shared bathrooms are fine with you. Value for money....

My friend and I were staying here last summer. The rooms are very comfortable with the traditional japanese floor futon and comforters. They also have AC in the room as well as TVs and a fridge. The restrooms are not connected to the room but they are kept very clean and the shower is downstairs. The staff is friendly and helpful and even allowed us to check in early because my friend was not feeling well. We were able to walk to downtown Hiroshima as well as the museum from the hotel. It's in a great area that is safe and quiet. Honestly...

We liked it for everything it had to offer. Very nice and helpful managers. Room is small and bathroom is to share but here we got the feeling of a real Japanese simple hotel. ||We could do a wash, which is not a given in many ryokan. ||The location is perfect, walking distance from the tramway station (direct ligne to train station) and from the main Hiroshima sites (Peace Park and Dome).||So, yes, very good for what we were looking for....
