Hotel Clam Chowder Kyoto — Hotel in Kyoto

Location is good if you want do do a lot of shopping in the city centre, for the main sights you still have to take the buses. But we did not like the room. There was a lot of dust in some places and tables had some stains. In general the room is outdated and would require some renovations. There is a strange smell all the time in the bathroom. General comfort (e.g. bed, shower, smell, noise, no curtains, no service/cleaning) is also lower compared to other hotels. This is the cutest little hotel in Kyoto, my husband and I really loved our room. It was two twin beds plus an extra loft and the shower was amazing. Much more room than the APA hotel that we stayed at in Tokyo. The staff are very friendly and it is honestly in the perfect location, you are minutes from the Nishiki Market, Pontocho Alley, and so many fun streets with shops and restaurants to explore.
