Shinkyogoku Shopping Street Union — Local services in Kyoto

It is a covered shopping arcade like there are similar in Tokyo, Osaka and I believe in many other Japanese cities, whose most precise name is Shinkyogoku-dori street. It is part of the central city area, between the two large Shijo and Kawaramachi arteries where there are other large shopping centers. I have been many times in this gallery. The most striking thing is that you find lots of places to eat and lots of street food. In this area there is also the famous Nishiki Market. This area is huge covering many streets. Visited in the rain season so the covered streets were really appreciated. The different streets have different themes. The food section is huge and offers many Japanese specialities that you can buy and eat on the spot. It is not allowed to eat while walking but it is ok to eat on the street as long as you stay in one spot.
