J-hoppers is a brand of hostels found through Japan. I stayed in the kyoto and osaka branches.
The first thing that you have to know about the kyoto branch is how friendly the employees of the hostel are. They are among the nicest people i ever met. They talk English with you but also practiced Japanese with me. All 4 of the staff members we met were super friendly and interested. We initially stayed for two night but liked it so much that we extended our stay for 2 nights. We practiced origami, talked and just chilled with the people there. In about 10 minutes walking distance you are at kyoto central Station. Read moreSuch a good experience! The sweestest, helpful staff. The place looks clean and I experienced the staff cleaning the place, both days I stayed there. Bathrooms looks clean! The beds has a very nice size, with space enough for a good amount of stuff. Plus there's a shelf in both the bottom as well as on the top bunk. I experienced great Wi-Fi for all floors! And there's a kitchen + fridge, so plenty of possibilites to cook/eat on a budget. Overall were me and my friend very satisfied with our stay! Read moreI had a great time there two years ago. Staff was very patient and friendly. They gave me everything I needed : maps, explanations to travel around the city, nice and quiets places to see, good restaurants, ... You can even rent a bike. It is very well located, 5min walk to a subway station and a bus stop is just accross the street. The rooms are big and you have a small locker where you can put your belongings. There is a big common room with a fully equiped kitchen, sofas, television, ... It was so great , I am coming back...
