The location is very good like everyone else said. The staff was very helpful and friendly except two girls were always awkward for some reason lol. The owner was very very nice, he helped me with calling the ambulance and even translated for me when EMTs were there taking PMH. I would come back to this place even just for this reason, cuz it feels super safe when you know someone will help you if you get sick. We stayed there for 7 nights. The room was nice and clean, you can cook there if you also have weak stomach like me. Lol. Free laundry was a plus. Saved us couple thousand yen. ( it typically costs 600-800 yen wash+dry) There are vacuums, clean towels, paper cups, trash bags, chopsticks/spoons, and all sort of things you may need right at the entrance on the first floor, you can take whenever/ whatever you need. It is very thoughtful of the owner to do things this way, we felt very comfortable without having to ask the staff for fresh towels everyday. Another thing very interesting was this place didn’t charge us some kind of “tax” (typically 200yen per person per night) like other hotels did when we checked...
Read moreSeriously, I loved this place. ||Let us start with the "bad" thing.|- It's hidden, and first time might be little bit difficult to find directly (even a taxi driver couldn't find it). |- Shame you cant leave your luggage there before check in, which is 4pm. And check out us 10 am. So it's like two hours of time lost without the room compared to the average times in Japan (check in 3pm and out 11am).|- The sockets are local... but look down in comments of positive things...||Now to the best things.|- Staff. Very friendly and helpful.|- Great and comfortable room, with many things.|- You can borrow stuff like ironing board and iron.|- Close to Kyoto train station.|- Close to Family Mart and restaurant|- Close to a mainstream street in case you wanna catch a taxi.|- Close tomany things worth visiting.|- The socket is local, but the staff lended me one adapter, so no problem.|- Towels, coffee, cups, and othe amenities available at the reception.||Recomend this place if you're in Kyoto.|The staff as I mentioned are helfull snd friendly, but since the ace opens 2pm, you don't meet them alot.|But, recomend the...
Read moreGreat location, very clean rooms, a lot of house rules and fully self service besides the check-in. The booking went very smooth with numerous reminders about the opening times for check-in, which went equally well. We got introduced to the house manual, even describing the use of the fire extinguisher. Generally nothing you don't expect, a focus on garbage disposal but otherwise fine. The room was sizable with a lot of double functions such as the fold in bed or the fold out coffee table. The matress was a little hard for my taste. Great choice when visiting Kyoto, a...
