Not one of the popular tourist attractions, but a definite must visit as the temple is quite peaceful and you feel like one.

I was even one of the lucky ones to go there during the Birthday celebration of Lord Buddha and partake in the ceremony by pouring tea over the statue of Lord Buddha and watching the other rituals being performed.

I highly recommend to keep this on your list when you visit...

Might not be as perfect and popular as other shrines and temples in Kyoto. That’s what I like the most, least crowds. Ume season started, there’s a perfect shaped pink ume tree at the entrance. Great to take a seat at the temple for some reflection and zen moments.
