A Disastrous Experience at TUNE Stay Hotel in Kyoto, Japan. I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at TUNE Stay Hotel in Kyoto, Japan, and I can confidently say that it was one of the worst hotel stays I have ever endured. From the moment I checked in to the day I finally escaped, everything about this hotel was a complete disaster. First and foremost, the staff at TUNE Stay Hotel were incredibly unhelpful and unfriendly they was laughing on my face about any request or questions that I made. The rooms at this hotel were a nightmare. They were cramped, poorly designed, and lacked basic amenities. The bed was uncomfortably hard and the pillows were nothing more than lumps of fluff, we rent a bedroom for 3, but we only get a two tiny bed where no even one person can sleep. The breakfast served at the hotel was an absolute joke. The options were limited and the quality of the food was abysmal. The dining area was cramped and uncomfortable, with dirty tables and a lack of hygiene standards. It was clear that the management had no regard for the overall dining experience of their guests.

To add insult to injury, the location of TUNE Stay Hotel was far from ideal. It was situated in a noisy and crowded area, far away from the main attractions of Kyoto. Getting around the city became a tedious task, as I had to rely on public transportation for long periods to reach the desired destinations.

In conclusion, I strongly advise against staying at TUNE Stay Hotel in Kyoto, Japan. The unhelpful staff, dreadful rooms, excessive noise, subpar breakfast, and inconvenient location all contribute to an overall disastrous experience. We had a great stay at Tune Stay Kyoto and we would look back to visiting again.

It is a great value hotel that is affordable yet still very classy and chic. Whilst rooms are quite tight (which is average for Japan), the layout and use of space is quite efficient, allowing us to easily store and access our 2 full sized suitcases, coats and other shopping bags.

The staff were warm and helpful, even by Japanese standards. They always greeted and farewelled us whenever we left and returned.

The main highlight of Tune Stay are the great common facilities. The lobby leads into a spacious library staircase which doubles as a short-film cinema at night. There is plenty of lounging area connected to the communal kitchen and laundry area at the basement. With the addition to the morning cafe/evening cocktail bar next to concierge, the entire space feels very elegant even for the 3 star price range. We found ourselves spending a lot of time at the library lounge in between our day trips and it was nice to have an open space to relax, making our stay feel less cramped.

The hotel is in a good location which is within walking distance to the station and main business district. It is a quiet area with some cafes and dining around.

My only complaint is about the hygiene of the rooms. Overall cleanliness was decent, rooms are well kept, non-smoking, and they offered us 2 cleaning days for our 6 night stay. However we could see some dust build up near the ceilings and ventilation/AC area, which is not ideal for people prone to allergies.

Overall I would rate the hotel 4.5/5 and we definitely feel like we got more value from what we paid for. See you again, love from...
