I had an amazing experience! The staff was so nice and accommodating! I went in thinking I could not wear yukata because I am a bigger girl, XL-XXL, but she still found a yukata for me, so pretty! Of course extra charge for yukata, but so worth it for the experience. And the tea ceremony was so interesting to watch and I felt like I was experiencing Japan’s culture first hand!! Was very informative and got to make and try matcha tea oursleves too on top of watching the master do it formally in the tea room. And they gave us time for pictures too. Highly recommend! (Thier English is very good, if you’re worried about that). I won’t post any other pictures I took while there because it’s something you have to see...

The experience at Kyoto Samurai House was truly amazing! I learned how to make tea following the traditional Japanese rules, and even got the chance to wear beautiful traditional clothing. Everyone was so kind, patient, and welcoming, they made me feel part of a real Japanese tea ceremony, not just a tourist activity.

They also went above and beyond, taking so many lovely photos and videos of me without me even asking! And at the end, they surprised me with a beautiful kimono as a gift. Such a thoughtful gesture that I’ll never forget.

I still have such warm memories of this place and the wonderful people who made it special. Highly recommend this experience to anyone...

My girlfriend and I went to the Kyoto Samurai House for a private tea ceremony. Upon arriving at the house, we were warmly greeted. The house is old and charming. We were dressed in our kimonos in separate rooms. We got an overview of tea ceremonies and then had ours. The ceremony was beautiful and meditative. I'm not a fan of tea (my girlfriend LOVES it) and the matcha from the tea ceremony was fantastic. A ton of photos were taken of us individually and together, before and after the tea ceremony. After the tea ceremony we made matcha. I got a dram of Japanese whisky that was delightful. I definitely recommend...
