I first went to Yuhara when the current owner's father and mother ran the ryokan. I was a student visiting Kyoto for the first time.Since then, I have been back several times. In January (2019), I brought two of my students to Kyoto. It was the first time they stayed in an authentic ryokan. Well, it is not quite like most ryokans because breakfast is not served. Not a problem! I don't like fish.(Can you believe someone who has visited Japan numerous times doesn't like fish??) ||The current owner is extremely friendly. He speaks Japanese and maintains the inn just like his parents did. The rooms look like they have just been built. Everything is spic and span. It is located not far from Kyoto Station and a subway. In a word, it is very well located. It faces a small canal and a small, quiet street. Mr. Yuhara has plenty of maps and advice for you if it is the first time you've visited Kyoto. You won't be dissapointed if you stay...

We were really happy with our choice because the family Yuhara was so nice and helpful. They always gave advice and gave us this nice map where there were cafes and sights marked for us. We also got tea and beverages! I would definitely come again. ||||In this time of the year the ryokan was quiet and sharing the bathroom and shower wasn't a problem.This also gave us a nice japanese experience and I recommend that the visitors try the japanese bath! ||||I have norhing bad to say about this place and would recommend it to almost everyone. Only if you like to party a lot the curfew might be a problem! We were also satisfied with the location. Was hard to find by taxi,but the personnel from the nearby restaurant...
