If you are looking for a more intimate sake tasting experience, this is it. I came here with some friends (we are from the US) and this was by far one of the coolest experiences I had during my visit to Kyoto. The woman who works there is super nice and has great recommendations, there is quite the assortment of sake to try. Plus if you want to meet some friendly locals, this is the spot to be. There are plenty of regulars that frequent this place and they are super nice. If you are a foreigner and can make even the slightest effort to speak a bit of Japanese, they will appreciate you for it.

Some great Sake was recommended to us and we had a really great and unforgettable time with extraordinarily friendly and interesting people. I recommend everyone to visit this inconspicuous place and enjoy some authentic japanese culture.

Stopped by on our last night in Kyoto after searching for a local sake bar. We absolutely loved it. It's a tiny spot so I wouldn't come in a large group but its perfect for a few friends who want to mix with locals. The service was incredible. Coming from the US, it's the kind of place that makes you want to tip.
