Exe Higashi-Shinsaibashi — Hotel in Osaka

We booked this hotel through Airbnb, and it was wonderful. I was surprised to see so many mixed reviews on google, because we honestly had no complaints.

We spent three nights here. Our total was $235 USD, which is a hard price to beat. The rooms were normal sized (comparative to other hotels we’ve stayed at in japan) but their layout and efficiency was impressive.

Our room had a small kitchenette, a laundry machine, shower and separate room for the toilet. A nice area for storing luggage. A balcony for drying washed clothes. The bed was more on the firm side, but no complaints. A couple more pillows would be ideal (but that’s been a common theme while traveling here).

Everything was clean and secure, the lobby was well kept and easy to access. You’re about 3 minutes walking from the heart of Dotonbori. And 10 minutes to most of the major train stations. Great location, and a super...

I'd give negative stars if I could.

First off all, the name changed but they never updated it. The new name is Mlilife, which they spelled wrong on their first floor store. The location for Mlilife on the map is wrong.

It reminds me of a motel. The rooms are accessed from the outside of the building. No one comes to clean your rooms, so you have to bring all your garbage and towels to a lady downstairs, if you're lucky to see her, like some mythical creature who collects garbage.

The front desk is going to be empty most of the time. The person who works there is supposed to be there from 9am to 9pm, but in reality she comes and goes whenever she wants. We saw her when we checked in, and when we came back down 15 minutes later she was gone.

The only positive about this place is...

I stayed here for 4 nights and 3 days. I always have an image of how small are the rooms due to tv shows, to my surprise, it was a lot bigger than I thought. I was able to fit 2 big luggages and 3 small. Our room had 3 beds, it was very short distance to family Mart, liquor stores and restaurants. I honestly love it here, I hope next time when I return I am able to book this hotel again. It was 5 mins...
