My family stayed here because this hotel provides a crib for infants. We also wanted to stay in a nicer area of Tokyo that was central and well connected to the tourist spots via the subway. Also, I prefer to stay at a hotel that is nicely furnished and decorated but still budget friendly. This hotel perfectly met all of these criteria.||The location is great if you want to be in a quiet, safe spot that is only a 5 min walk to all the busy side streets and restaurants. We had a great view of a shrine and the imperial residence complex across the street, and a police station is also next door.||The room was comfortable and neat and recently sized for the 3 of us, especially for Japan. My only concerns were that the bathroom sink was plugged with hair (miad didn't do a good job of cleaning) and when I turned on the air conditioning my allergies started to get set off due to dust (dusty HVAC ducts). So they need to focus on keeping up with these maintainance issues.||We opted for the buffet meal. It was delicious with a lot of options, but mostly of the traditional Japanese variety (which I didn't mind). It is rather a formal dining area with a great view overlooking the shrine across the street.||If in the area, I recommend a short walk to Tokyo Garden Terrace Kioicho, which is a nice, modern shopping complex with lots of dining options.||We saw at least 3 different subway lines in pretty close proximity to the hotel, so a great location to explore Tokyo from.||I would definately...
Read moreA lovely hotel 7 minutes away from Akasaka-mitsuke station. (Don't get off at Akasaka metro station as it'll be a long walk and if you have heavy luggages it'd be a nightmare carrying them up the stairs at the station and the stairs on the way to the hotel which you would have to take to get to the hotel).
I stayed there with my husband for 3 nights. We also booked breakfast for 3 mornings and we found the breakfast menu quite boring as there were pretty much the same things everyday. We found the room quite comfortable though the air con wasn't working probably as we couldn't change the temperature but it wasn't a big deal since it was during winter time. There was room to leave our 2 big luggages open and we still could walk around (it's bigger compared to some other hotels we stayed in Tokyo). The bathroom was also clean and tidy. The toilet seat had warming function which was very nice. The wifi was strong and fast. There are many shops and restaurants around though at night time though it wouldn't be as fun as in other areas but it felt safe as there are many government buildings around and there were always safeguards standing on the street. There's also a worth visiting Shrine opposite the hotel.
Overall we were happy with this hotel and thanks for reading my review....
Read moreWe had an amazing stay at Hotel Monterey Akasaka. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the underground, which made getting around Tokyo very easy.|From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly and welcoming. The amenities were outstanding. Not only did we have all the usual hotel comforts, but there were also extra treats like bath salts, women’s face masks, and lots of choices for skincare. We were even offered a complimentary drink from the fridge, such as green tea or apple juice, which was a lovely touch.|The room was comfortable and the beds were so good after our flight from the UK. There were four bottles of water in the room and a lovely coffee machine, which we really appreciated.|One of the best little extras was the special foot patches to soothe your feet after a day of walking around Tokyo, which we thought was brilliant.|I cannot fault this hotel. It was exactly what we wanted and needed, and we received everything. I would definitely come back here in a heartbeat. Thank you for having us, Hotel...
