So we are typical tourists from Florida USA. We just wanted a decent place to stay for a couple nights layover on the way to Jakarta Indonesia. I searched high and low, far and wide, for a good long time to find "hopefully" a good place. Well the Atlas Hotel fit the bill just right for us. We stayed in room 503 Pros- Location... location.. location. It's basically in the heart of Shinjuku nestled in several city blocks of various other love hotels. BTW, this is a LOVE HOTEL 🏩. Not really romantic, but definitely better than the average "normal" hotel. The area on the web looks shifty I guess, but let me tell you, it definitely is NOT. This area is just fine. It's safe, and it's clean. No worries about criminal elements from all that I could tell. We walked substantially around the entire area both day and night, and it was a nice quiet place. There were little stores here and there, a great currency exchange a few blocks away which was excellent. And even a sweet place down the block for karaoke. See my review for Ihawan bar. The heart of Shinjuku was only a 9 minute walk away. The lobby was nice, with free fountain drinks and great ice. The girl behind the counter was friendly. The room was actually nice. It was roomy, with a king size bed. A window that fully opened to the street below. Nice mood lighting. Big TV. Karaoke in the room ( which we never could get to work). Free slippers and robes. A real key, which you turn in each time you leave, and they give you a little voucher to get your key back. The tub was big and clean, but no Jacuzzi unfortunately 😞 The water pressure was excellent! The tub filled up extremely fast. 2 TVs in the bathroom. A heated toilet with squirt action to clean yourself. They said it was a "smoking" room, but we didn't smell anything. Some patrons strolled in now and then. The shampoo and conditioner was a good quality. A few other useful amenities were available as well. There was a pay for drinks fridge there, and a microwave. A supplied air cleaner, which worked very well, and also served as a pleasant sleep noise machine. Our room was unexpectedly super clean. Hats off to the cleaners. Overall,we were really satisfied with this Hotel room. The cons- You can't check in until 9pm NO exceptions. So don't come earlier than that. The king bed was kinda comfortable, but they had no bedsheet to lay under, so basically the blanket was all you had to cover yourself with. Just wondering how often they actually clean the blankets. The "only 2" supplied pillows were abismal for comfort. Bring your own if you can. The karaoke machine didn't work, or we just wasn't doing something right. No coffee maker. No closet space just only 2 hangers and a hook. No place to hang your towel to dry, although the towels were of good quality. The elevator works good, but is very small. But folks don't normally rent a room for several nights as compared for just a few hours at a time, being it's a love hotel 🏨, so need for a large elevator Conclusion - I still give it 5 stars 🤩 The good stuff outweighed the bad, and for high season, the value can't be beat. We payed $248 USD for 2 full nights. I highly recommend this hotel in Shinjuku. Love from Florida USA!
