Had a 5 day stay in this hotel. The only nice thing about it is the location near restaurants + stations and the convenience of having a Lawson right next to it. Room was functional, small as advertised. They offered a free pick up service at the airport for us (6 people + luggages). They came with 1 Alphard that had 5 seats. Clearly not enough. So they told us they needed to arrange another car for us that will cost $300. We were hesitant and so discussing amongst ourselves. We hadn't finalised our decisions but they already called another car to come. Costed us $300. Most of all, service from the reception was meh. They were not enthusiastic and not very friendly. There was one particular young male staff that was so unfriendly and rude. Since there were only 3 dryers and lots of guests in the hotel, if the dryer is finished but the clothes had not been claimed by the owning guest, they will take clothes from the dryer and keep it at the reception for the next guest to use which was understandable and helpful (They put up signs about it in the laundry room so I am seriously not making this up). When the dryer had finished the program and the clothes from previous guest were dry but still left in dryer by its owner, I asked that male reception staff to do the same thing, to keep it in the reception for the next guest (ie me) to use the dryer so that there wasn't any delay. He refused to do it with a very unpleasant attitude. I tried talking to him because I needed to use the dryer, like what am I supposed to do with all these wet clothes at 11pm at night?? He answered me as if he had no idea about keeping the unclaimed clothes in the reception so the next guest can use the dryer efficiently. So I went into the laundry room and took out the informational sign about the hotel keeping the clothes to show him. He didn't even bother looking at it carefully (the sign was in English and his English was not good) and he aggressively told me to put it back. I was hesitant that he didn't understand the sign so I tried pulling up Japanese translation on Google translate to show him that I was telling the truth that the hotel actually does what I asked him to do. Then he acted like I was being crazy and asking for an impossible insane thing. He clicked his tongue, stormed out of his reception place, grabbed the sign and brought it back to the laundry room. During this time, another staff who was older heard us talking so he came to check on the younger male staff. They talked a little and the older staff went back to the back room. Then when the younger staff stormed off to the laundry room to put the sign back and never returned. I pressed the bell to talk to the older staff. I explained the situation again and he calmly told me to go back to my room, they will call me when the dryer is available for me to use. If the younger male staff was calm and helpful like older male staff, that would be so much better whether or not they can do what I asked them to. Instead, the younger male staff was rude, unhelpful and had a nasty attitude. Later, the younger male staff called me and just blatantly said "dryer is ready" and hung up without hearing me say thank you. I came down, told him that I was xyz for that dryer, he gave me the occupied sign for the dryer without saying a word, listening to me or looking at me in the eyes. So guys, stay away from this service. There are so many other convinient hotels in Tokyo with better everything in this price range. I do not want anyone else to experience this nasty service. Never...
Read moreI stayed here for almost a month, and enjoyed it very much.
The hotel has an excellent train connectivity. Located at 1 minute walk from West Exit of Asakusabashi Subway Station (Tokyo Metro) and 5 minute walk from Exit-3 of Asakusabashi JR Station (JR East)
The hotel has 14 floors served with 2 lifts. The hotel's reception is connected to a 24x7 convenience store (Lawson). Another convenience store Seven-Eleven (7-11) is located en route from the hotel to Asakusabashi JR Station. There is a 24x7 supermarket (Niku No Hanamasa) located behind the hotel to buy meat, vegetables, fruits and beverages.
The people at the reception are extremely polite and very helpful. One of them speaks English very well while others speak only a little. I had an issue with my credit card, and could not make an upfront payment for my reservation for 1 month. The front office folks were kind enough to let me pay the deposit in multiple installments. However, payment for a night's stay needs to be paid in advance.
The reception provides a travel adapter suitable to Type A socket (100V Type A plug & socket is used in Japan) at your request for no additional charges. The adapter needs to be returned at the time of check out.
The reception provides a steam iron box and ironing board at your request which needs to be returned to the reception after you finish using it.
The hotel has 3 washing machines (uses only cold water) and 3 separate gas driers in the washing room. You may purchase detergent solution and cloth softener from the reception if you want. I would recommend to buy it from the convenience store.
The hotel provides many free amenities that you may collect from the storage at the reception - body wash towel, shaving cream, razor, ear buds, comb, hair bands, baby moist milk and other creams in sachets. The housekeeping team places 2 dental kits (brush + paste), and refill your body wash solution, shampoo and conditioner in the room everyday.
The room is very compact just like any other hotel in Tokyo. It has got one bed comfortable enough to accommodate one grown adult :) For two people, the bed would only be just enough.
The room has a TV with few Japanese channels, and pay-on-demand Movies that can be bought from the vending machine. There is mini-fridge, hair dyer, microwave oven and electric kettle in the room. Ceramic plates, ceramic bowls, cooking pans with lids and cutlery are available in the room with kitchenette.
The bathtub is super small and only 4 feet long. The hotel does not provide bottled water, complimentary instant coffee sachets or tea-bags. Only herbal tea sachets are provided :'(

Read moreLocation is amazing near the station. Restaurants all around. But the guy at the reception was the most rude person in whole of Japan. His attitude ruined the complete experience. The only bad memory in my entire Japan trip. He should learn to behave with the guests and at least show minimum respect and courtesy.
I was travelling solo and found that the Japanese were the most wise , kindest, sophisticated , meticulous, exceedingly friendly, polite considerate and gentle except for this lone gentleman who is at the reception in this hotel. I was due to check out at 12pm but i hadn't checked out by that time. Receptionist called only once at 12.20pm and to my surprise sternly told me to vacate in 10 minutes or face additional charges of 2000¥ after 12.30pm. Taken by surprise i somehow managed to finish up my packing and left the room and reached the reception at 12.30pm itself. All my bills were settled beforehand itself. So I was sitting in the lobby with my suitcases right in front of the receptionist talking on the phone with my family and waiting for my taxi for approximately half an hour. Suddenly as was beginning to exit the hotel this guy at the reception starts barging at me saying that the time of half an hour that I was in the reception in front of him would also be considered as my time of stay in the room and demanded that I pay 2000Jpy or he will call the police. Never in any instance were I disrespectful or angry when he was ranting and behaving very strangely & in and extremely angry disrespectful manner. Finally his sweet and understanding female co-receptionist who oversaw the whole scene being played out tried and pacified this man and he lo and behold he shoves me out saying just go just leave. Extremely unprofessional and unbecoming of a reception staff. We have come to experience your beautiful country and paid really well. A little bit of consideration and respect wouldn’t be too much to ask I guess. I’m surely coming back to Tokyo but never going to stay at MYSTaYS Asakusabashi. He Spoiled the whole...
