The robots are cool to look at. Checking in is just scanning your passport and then getting your room key and number from the machine next to the counter. A staff member had to come out to scan our passports and basically check us in though. They also had to help the other group that checked in at the same time. There are a few handy luggage locks so you can leave your luggage in the lobby until you can check in at 3:00pm. They were all being used but the staff member put our luggage in the staff area for us. There is a phone on the counter to call for staff to help and they are always really nearby. We stayed on the 2nd floor, just a few steps from reception. There weren’t any noise issues. The room a very compact. Our two medium sized luggage’s fit so they weren’t getting in our way but large ones would have gotten in our way. The bed is awful!!! It’s a mattress pad on top of a wooden bed frame. The mattress moves very easily and flops off the side of the bed frame. It’s a double bed so sleeping was uncomfortable for my husband and myself when the bed moved. It would have been fine if there was something to keep the mattress from moving. The room comes with a smartphone that you can use while you are staying there. It even said that you could take it out. We didn’t end up using it. The TV has limited channels and everything is Japanese, but they have a chrome cast set up so we streamed Netflix mostly. The bathtub was so lovely and deep. It’s not as long as other tubs, but it was comfortable for me (I’m 5’3). There was liquid body soap, shampoo and conditioner. I really liked the body wash and even thought about asking if I could buy some. They come in bigger bottles so you can steal extra from the cleaning cart. I was confused about the cleaning schedule. It seemed like they came in after the first night and took the empty bottles we left out, but didn’t make the bed or clean the coffee cup that we had also left by the bottles. They didn’t once clean that cup while we stayed there. They made the bed one time, but didn’t take the bottles. It was kinda strange. There was also a single slipper between the foot of the bed and the window that they didn’t catch when the last people checked out or while we stayed there. It didn’t bother us, we were just confused about the cleaning. The area was pretty cool though. Lots of ikazaya bars that seemed popular with local workers. There was a close-by Lawson’s and a 7-11 a block or so away. 2 min walk to the station. It was a cool experience and very affordable, but I wouldn’t stay there again.

We just arrived at the hotel for our honeymoon and wanted to try a new experience with robots checking you in! We let the hotel room know that it is our honeymoon and they have prepared a very nice message for us with nice towel art! ♥️ Thank you very much to the hotel staff for this amazing surprise! We will definitely be booking again in the future! UPDATE: Now that we have completed our stay, I would like to add that the overall hotel experience is super nice and the robots are very nice to watch. In case you have any difficulties a hotel staff is going to attend you to help with the self check-in, in case it is needed. Super friendly staff and would definitely book again. The room size is decent and we traveled with a lot of bags due to spending some time in various places in Japan. One super great feature that I haven't seen in other hotels yet, is the luggage station. During the day of the check-in and check-out you can use the station for free and leave your bags right in the hotel. This means that if you arrived before your check-in time or if you have check-out but still have some time to spend in the city, you can lock your bags and be free. SUPER NICE and will definitely book again in the future.

The location of this hotel is second to none hence the 5* review, we stayed for 15 nights and wherever you want to go you can from the JR line & metro lines nearby. Asakusabashi is lovely, a local area and within walking distance of Akihabara & Asakusa. There are plentiful bars, izakaya & combinis within seconds of the hotel. The hotel itself is cheap, cheerful & functional. You aren’t paying luxury prices so don’t expect that experience. But actually the amenities such as a great big tv with google chrome cast and clothes freshener unit you wouldn’t find that in a room this price in for example London. The room was a decent size for a couple (we booked a Hollywood twin) and we loved the Japanese style shower / bath unit. If you are a confident traveller that doesn’t need to be spoon fed it’s the perfect crash pad. Only downside is the bed is a Japanese futon mattress on a hard base to look like a “normal” bed - it’s hard, really hard and the pillow is a traditional buckwheat filled affair. The first few nights were a challenge but we got used to it and actually grew to quite like it. Cleaning is only every 3 days and a very basic bin change & new towels so if you are staying longer bare that in mind as our room was very dusty and needed a good clean by the end of our stay. The robots are cute and check in / out was easy. Our return flight wasn’t until midnight and we could store our bags for free all day. Would 100% stay here again on a...

Rooms were small as expected but there were oddities and deficiencies that could be improved upon. For example there is a hot water kettle in the room with 3 mugs but nothing else. I expected tea or instant coffee if mugs and a kettle are present but that wasn't the case.

The shower door had black mould on the silicon around the window.

The shower head mounts on the wall are loose and will most likely break soon.

The bathroom smells like a public toilet if you don't have the fan on 24/7.

The lights on the headboard near each bed were broken and loose and would flicker if touched.

First floor entrance to hotel is shared with an Indian restaurant so if you don't like the smell of Indian food be prepared to walk through it every time you enter and exit the hotel.

Walls are paper thin so if you are staying next to an occupied room you can hear everything they are saying and laughing about.

The reception robots don't do anything really at all other than idle animations that aren't impressive. You don't interact with them at all and check-in is done on a tablet.

We requested another pillow as we have a child with us but only 2 beds and 2 pillows and were told that they do not have or offer extra pillows so I've been sleeping on a travel pillow.

Overall the concept is unimpressive and fell flat.

Price was good as we booked many months in advance and the location is...
