I recently had the pleasure of staying at a beautiful resort in Yufuin, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. Due to an incident, we could only book our stay through the Yufuin train station, where the staff were incredibly helpful in assisting us with our reservation.
From the moment we arrived, I was impressed by the resort's hospitality. The staff were exceptionally considerate and created a warm, homely atmosphere. We enjoyed the traditional Japanese onsen experience, and I was thrilled to find that our room had been upgraded to include a private onsen.
On our first evening, we discovered that dinner was unavailable due to last-minute booking issues and ingredient shortages. However, the staff went above and beyond to assist us, recommending a fantastic BBQ beef restaurant and even arranging the reservation for us.
The room itself was wonderful—well-heated, spacious, and featuring a balcony with stunning views of the hills. The resort's lobby and rooms have a rich history, yet everything remained impeccably clean and offered a sense of privacy ideal for relaxation.
All the staff were friendly and welcoming, leaving us with a lasting impression of Yufuin and its charm. I highly recommend this onsen hotel for anyone looking to stay in the Yufuin area. It truly embodies the essence of Japanese hospitality...
Read moreMy wife and I love this place. It is a bit old but well maintained. The front staff is very warm, courteous and personal unlike the modern hotels. The dinner and breakfast were just awesome. The quality is much better than other ryokans that we have stayed. The dishes are specially prepared and served in nice cutlery. They even arranged an English speaking waiter from Nepal to serve us. But unlike most ryokans where food is served in the room, we have to go to the dinning hall for our meals. The location is right in the middle of Yufuin main street. We are not aware that they provide free pick up service from the Railway Station. We had to roll our 2 large suitcases which is a fair walk from the Station. It was only when we ask the hotel to arrange a taxi upon checking out that they told us they can...
Read moreI picked this hotel because it is one of the very few that is non smoking in this area. Plus, it is one of the few that is situated on the actual shopping street (actually, you don't need to be so close paying such high price).||||My room is double storey one with twin beds on level one and another single bed on level 2. It does have a majestic view of the mountain from the balcony. Dinner and breakfast are average. The onsen is the worst in my entire Kyushu trip - the indoor one is a tiny bath house and no lights was switched on at the outdoor onsen - which is the size of probably 3 bathtubs.. ||||I would pick another ryokan off the shopping belt because the rest aren't that far off. Those offer better meals and onsen.||||Service is very good though...but the room is...
