Staying here was an incredibly relaxing and immersive experience, blending traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern comforts. The room had a beautifully designed tatami floor, creating a cozy and tranquil atmosphere. The combination of Western-style beds and traditional Japanese seating added to the charm, making it both comfortable and culturally rich. The private open-air bath on the balcony was a highlight, offering a peaceful soak while enjoying the natural surroundings. The another private onsen also was available and had a rustic charm, with stone and wood elements enhancing the relaxing experience. It was spacious and well-maintained, providing a great place to unwind. Their dinner course delivered a refined and memorable dining experience. The thoughtful curation of flavors, the emphasis on seasonal ingredients, and the breathtaking presentation made this a must-try for those seeking an authentic Japanese kaiseki meal. For their breakfast it was not just a mealโ€”itโ€™s a reflection of Japanโ€™s culinary philosophy, where every element was carefully chosen to create harmony. The balance of flavors, high-quality ingredients, and serene presentation made it a wonderful way to...

The service and the amazing comments I saw on both Google and Agoda were the reason why I book the place in late Oct.

We travelled in three with luggages and didnโ€™t drive for the trip. The Inn location is just 6 mins drive from the station up the hill from town. Definitely not ideal for travellers with no car because their shuttle service is only available for normal check in/out time (check in after 4 and check out at 10 the next day).

It was a total nightmare for us when we only find out the hotel staff had to prepare for the breakfast the next day hence no shuttle service available, nor any taxi booking available. In the end, we had to walk to Yufuin bus terminal with our luggages for nearly half an hour (claimed to be 15 mins downslope walk by staff).

Strongly suggest travellers with no car to reconsider before booking because the Inn did not seem to find our issue as an issue even we emailed them...

Nice little private onsen hotel with genuinely stunning view of the mountain. Only deducting one star because the degustation dinner was hard to eat. It honestly was a challenge to eat, i eat fish but somehow this sitting really made me want anything else, and it just kept slowly coming in tiny increments. I was in a group of 4 people and we were all aware that our palette was not developed for this Japanese cuisine - but still - turtle, slimy textures and fishy raw fish, just wasnโ€™t very enjoyable. Probably just unlucky. The breakfast however was decent thankfully. Staff, service - excellent. Hotel very nice, amazing view. Just skip the...

One of the best stays we have had at a Ryokan or hotel in Japan. We stayed at a room with a private onsen during the summer so the weather was really hot but you can adjust the onsen and cool it down so we still got to enjoy it. We had dinner which consisted of about 10-12 courses each of them delicious food from the area. Breakfast was simpler but still delicious and both meals had more than enough food to make you feel full, all of the foods delicious and healthy. The staff was super friendly and helpful, from the moment we arrived the service was excellent. We would definitely recommend this place and hope to stay here again.

The room is very bad. Look at the first video. The entrance is so poorly designed that it is hard to enter or exit. Also, the onsen tap runs 24/7 right beside the bed which means that if you are a light sleeper, you will have a hard time. Worst is the toilet, it has a very bad smell due to being very old. In general, the whole ryo kan is very old and small. Not the kind of relax and chill place you expect of ryo kan. Food and service are fine but definitely won't want to stay here again.
