Mebaeso — Hotel in Yufu

Very nice small hotel. Not too many large groups as on the one we visited at Unzen-Shi. We had a short walk down a windy path to our separate unit which had a nice room, small patio and its own outside spa. Pretty idyllic!||The staff were very pleasant. We were assigned a Korean guy who could speak English and Japanese. He showed us the room and served us at table in the restaurant. I think he was the only English speaker. Great food, again better than our previous Ryokan. ||The train trip from Nagasaki was terrific. It is on the Rail Pass and best to get in a green seat (first class) although second is also very good. It’s a special older train with wood panel interiors. It only does the run to Yufuin. The staff have little train uniforms for tiny children and will take your photos and point out features like...

Having never been to an onset place, this was my first first, and did not know what to expect other than what has been shard verbally.||||The staff are so welcoming in greeting you and helping you as best as possible, given the language barriers.||||Rooms are really clean, as are the public onsens'.||||The private rooms were unavailable so can't say much about it.||||Dinner and breakfast are provided, and its an elaborate spread.||||Good...

Around 20 min. If you walk from yufuin station but i highly recommend this way because of stunning view along the way.

About this place i'm very impressed since arrived to departed. Friendly Staff that can speak english. Beautiful room with a great view. Two family onsen. Delicious kaiseki course and japanese style Breakfast.
