Stayed in a suite with two single beds which have our own open air bath and an indoor bath as well. The open air bath was just great, very large and beautiful. So relaxing to enjoy after almost three years not being able to visit the country and use onsen. Suite itself is very spacious and the amenities are new. There were however two small windows, one at the living area and the other near the suite's entrance which did not have curtains or blinds, and could be seen from the outside. Otherwise everything was perfect. The ryokan's public bath has an excellent view of Mt. Yufu. Food quality of the Kaiseki dinner was high. There were ample parking spaces for guests' use.||I would like to thank Mr. Pralhad Pathak at the front desk who helped me make calls and spoke on my behalf to the staff of the hotel where I stayed the night before to help me look for my watch which somehow got lost. He was very caring and assisted me to follow up even upon my check-out. Very nice of him. Really appreciate it.||My stay at Baien was a wonderful experience. I stayed at three different ryokans and some other hotels during my 8-day trip to Kyushu this time, and I ranked Baien no.1. I would definitely stay there again next time when I...
Read moreThis is my second time to this ryokan. My family of 4 visited this ryokan in July 2019 and stayed for 2 nights.||||The room was spacious, with 2 western style beds and 2 tatami beds. The dinner was with excellent quality, seafood and beef. My son has seafood and nuts allergy and requested special meals well in advance during booking. The ryokan was very attentive and prepared for him special meals with beef, different vegetables, pork, duck and chicken meats. The breakfast was also great. Different types of juices and coffee were offered and were self-served.||Baien was near the mountain area and the air was really refreshing.||||The outdoor public onsen was superb, with nice mountain view and was large enough to serve many.||||The service was great and friendly.||||Some tips: taxi fare from Yufuin JR station to Baien was 700Yen. It only took about 15 minutes walk from Baien Ryokan to the popular lake area and the touristic streets of Yufuin. ||||Definitely will stay...

The serene landscape, traditional touches, and attention to detail throughout the property made for a truly memorable experience.
