This hotel is featured in the "Lonely Planet" guidebook. It is said to be in a dangerous area just outside Nairobi's CBD, but that's not the case. The security is quite tight, with card-touch door unlocking and alarms that ring if the doorknob is tampered with. There are always at least two staff members on-site, at reception and security. The staff are courteous and responsive to various needs. The establishment also includes a restaurant, complimentary small bottles of water, and daily cleaning services. A potential downside is its proximity to the Globe Roundabout, so the sound of cars is constant, and noises such as the sound of water storage and the hallway can be echoing. It might be best for those who are sensitive to noise to avoid this place. The price point for this place is surprising.

Kahama hotel has the greatest services ever. The staff members are very warm. The place is pretty affordable and most importantly the location is a gift from the heavens. It's nearness to town really comes in handy as you can just walk to and fro. Their rooms are very clean, they have WiFi as well as warm water for bathing. The only downside is that sometimes the water feels cold as they depend on solar for it to heat up but other than that I highly recommend the place.

Cozy hotel in the city. The staff is very knowledgable and friendly. The rooms are great! The food in the main dining (see pic) area is good, especially the fries and fried fish. The hotel is in a good area and is guarded with gate and a guard around the clock. Highly recommended and a good welcome to Nairobi!

When I booked the reservation, I had some qualms. Mainly because the price was so reasonable, I feared that the room would be inadequate. But the previous reviews made me decide to give it a shot. I can honestly say this is the best, most reasonably priced, budget hotel I have ever booked. The staff are amazing! They are so courteous and helpful. They arranged airport pickup for me at a reasonable price. It was so reassuring after an 18 hour flight to see the driver with my name on a placard waiting for me. The room was immaculate. Housekeepers cleaned daily, replacing towels, sheets, and even soap bars. A restaurant is onsite serving breakfast and dinner -- all very reasonable priced. I save the best for last: reliable internet. It was reliable and sufficient for my needs. (I could even watch YouTube videos without buffering.) My only issue -- and this is minor -- is that sometimes the water was not as hot as I would like. I think the system is solar, and given the bad (overcast) weather, this affected the water temperature. Also, the pressure was sometimes low. (I mentioned this to the staff and they did something to adjust that.) I would return to this hotel in a heartbeat if I...

Of the seven TV channels available, three of them were advertising channels for a local cable service called DStv. There was no actual programming just showing you what you could get if you signed up for it. That was really bizarre to have three out of seven channels selling me on a service when I'm staying there as a hotel guest. The toilet flushing device did not work properly so I had to take the lid off of the toilet each time I used it and use my fingers to push down on the valve to make the toilet flush. There is no elevator. On the first night, I had to walk downstairs three times and back up the stairs three times because my key card wasn't working. I discovered that the reason why the key card was not working is because the metal plate was not attached squarely to the door when they converted from a key lock to a key card system, so the plate was loose and I had to hold it tight in order to get the key card to work. Rather than telling me that's what I needed to do the front desk just kept issuing me new cards every time I came down to say that my card was...

| There is this day we left the room in the morning as we always do and we come back later in the evening. When we came back the room was untidy like we had left it . My boyfriend went to complain about it, the lady at the reception was not willing to give a solution for that . He then requested to talk to the manager for a go ahead. The manager authorized them to shift us to another room "that was so nice of you though". The following day when we were checking out my boyfriend left his laggage at the reception and requested them to keep them for him he will come pick them up later in the day. When he came back they refused to give him his belongings claiming that he has to pay for the other room and yet we had paid earlier for that night. Making matters more worse the manager was the one insisting we should pay yet it was there fault not ensuring our room was clean. That was so mean of you guys even after staying in your hotel for ten days and the last day you charge as double price . I think you should consider customer satisfaction because we paying for...
