A very average looking hotel with an average restaurant serving brekky. The lobby doesn't really exude a feeling of warmth, which was what we really wanted after a cold morning exploring Luang Prabang. The staff are nice but quiet. Most of the hotel (e.g. corridors) is outside so it can get really cold. Our room decor was not inspiring either - a drabby blue and grey and brown. It also took a while to heat our water for bathing - around 10 mins of leaving the tap on. Takes 15 mins to walk to main street.||||We stayed here for 3 nights and it really grows on you because it becomes so familiar. As it is so modest, it feels like home and at the end of a long day, there's nothing more than driving up to the lobby, greeting the staff, and hopping up to the room for a shower and good night sleep in the beds. The beds are incredible and I had the best nights of sleep there - helped me get over my flu. There's also free wifi & wide range of channels on TV. Good housekeeping too - room was spotless when we returned each day.||||We had a buffet dinner on NYE at the restaurant. Although a very quiet dinner (we were the only guests there), staff were very nice. They had their own little staff party afterwards, which was sweet. ||||Although a nice, humble hotel, I'd recommend staying closer to the main street if you aren't already on a tour with a...
Read moreLuang Prabang is a beautiful place surrounded by mountains & rivers. ||But from this hotel, you can't see any of those. The windows in the room can't even be opened to let fresh air in. Room is kind of dark & mouldy. The carpet is very dusty and not maintained properly (I got very sensitive nose, I could not breathe properly when I am in there). I passed by other rooms without the carpet, just wooden flooring but the room seems smaller than mine. ||The pillows and bed is very hard, not comfortable at all. ||There is hair dryer in the room but no water boiler. There is air-conditioning available. ||There is water heating for the shower but it takes some time for the water to heat up so you got to turn it on and let it run for at least 5-10 minutes before using. ||There is supposed to be Wi-Fi available in the room but I couldn't get any signal in mine. I have to walk 3-5 steps outside my room to get a signal. ||Breakfast is adequate but average. ||The common areas were nice, courtyard with tables and chairs. ||Location wise, it's not that convenient as well. ||If I return to Luang Prabang, I would definitely not stay here as there are plenty of better options even within the same...
Read moreThis is a very average hotel. It had been booked for us and pre-paid, otherwise we would have moved to a guest house in town. The public interior areas of the hotel, particularly the open courtyard, are promising, but unfortunately the rooms do not live up to the promise. Room was drab and a bit shabby (mould in bathroom, dirty marks on the paint), which was made worse by the curtains being fixed so that they could not be opened fully to let natural light in. Very few guests, staff seemed surprised to see us. On the plus side it is easy to get a tuk tuk into town from outside the hotel, and the wifi...
