We are a group of 8 persons - all first time to Luang Prabang.||||Luang Prabang is a very clean city. During the 5 days we were there, ALL of us fell in love with the people, the very calm atmosphere, the weather (December) and the very affordable prices. We took a private vehicle during the land tours and chartered the entire boat to visit the cave and witness sunset.||||Accommodation||Firstly, I suppose being a 3rd world country, the definition of hotel, villa, inn and guesthouse is quite misleading. We stayed in a "hotel" but in international terms, it is actually a guesthouse. We did our "investigation" before deciding to stay at Elephant Boutique Hotel even though we knew it is a guesthouse. We were impressed by the reviews we read on another social media.||||From the day we arrived until our departure, we were all very impressed with the level of services by Ms Kim, Ms Rose and Mr Huan at the front desk and the room attendants who cleaned our rooms daily. There is a very good a-la-carte set breakfast daily from 7am to 9.30am, always with fresh cut fruits, fresh fruit juice and coffee or tea.||||The bedroom was very clean and had wall mounted TV, mini-fridge, safe deposit box, private bathroom with great hot water, air-condition and a ceiling fan. View from the room is not anything much except for the 4-person bedroom where you have a private balcony overlooking the main road - not very noisy.||||Location is great - the night market is an easy 15 minute walk, the Mekong River 20 minute walk, Mount Phousi about 20 minute walk and the Utopian Bar - 20 minute walk.||||We arranged our airport transfers and sightseeing tours with Ms Kim and Ms Rose. Everything was arranged accordingly, no delays and very professional services by the people who took us around.||||The people in Luang Prabang are very friendly and easy going people. During the 5 days we were there, we heard drivers honk the car horn a total of 4 times!!||||We highly recommend Luang Prabang as a destination (we definitely intend of returning) and highly recommend the Elephant Boutique Hotel for the excellent human touch (we definitely will stay in this hotel again). This was reflected by the smiling faces of the many other guests who were staying in the same hotel every time we were at breakfast and passing the reception.||||We hope you will enjoy your stay as...
Read moreMy recent stay at Elephant Boutique Hotel in Luang Prabang, Laos, was absolutely delightful. This charming hotel perfectly blends traditional Lao architecture with modern comforts, making it a standout choice in the heart of the city. The location is unbeatable—situated close to the night market and key attractions, yet tucked away enough to provide a peaceful retreat. It was so convenient to explore the rich culture of Luang Prabang with everything just a short walk away. The rooms were beautifully decorated with a blend of traditional and contemporary design elements. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room was spotlessly clean. I appreciated the thoughtful details, like the locally sourced toiletries, that added a personal touch to the space. One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast served each morning. The selection was diverse, with a mix of local and Western options, all freshly prepared and delicious. Enjoying breakfast in the serene courtyard was the perfect way to start the day.The staff at Elephant Boutique Hotel were exceptional. They were always smiling and eager to help with anything I needed, from arranging tours to offering recommendations on the best local spots to visit. Their warmth and hospitality truly made me feel at home. The hotel also offers a few additional amenities, such as free Wi-Fi, which was reliable throughout my stay, and a cozy lounge area where I could unwind after a day of exploring.Overall, my experience at Elephant Boutique Hotel was nothing short of wonderful. It's the perfect place to stay if you're looking for a comfortable, welcoming, and well-located base in Luang Prabang. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting this...
Read moreI stayed here as a solo female traveller in Feb 2020. I had booked and paid extra for a room with a balcony however when I arrived I was told this would be too noisy for me (I'm only 44, not 84!) and was put in a standard room. No offer was made to refund me the extra I had paid when booking and at the time I didn't have the energy to argue about it. I probably should have done as my view ended up being some unpleasant tin rooftops. ||||Anyway, the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower was good although the drain was blocked and water went everywhere. This was sorted after I told them about it. There is a safe in the room.||||The female member of staff was awesome and really helpful booking me excursions and a minibus to my next destination. The male member of staff looked really miserable and I don't think I saw him smile once. He made me feel reluctant to ask him anything.||||The breakfast is basic but absolutely fine. The location is a 10 minute walk away from the main area. It's easy to find your way around and there is a good supermarket nearby.||||On the whole, this place is good for what you pay for although with retrospect I would have paid more and stayed on...
