The hostel is very nice furnitured. You come in and instantly feel cosy and welcome. The people are very very nice. I liked that u could alsways fill a cup of warm water for tea in the hall. Also everything you want to see abd need is very near to the hostel. There were just a few things... there was not enough warm water in the shower, sometimes i had to make a break while showering and was freezing a lot because the warm water got cold or there wasn't any water at all just a few drops. Difficult if you have your hair full of shampoon. We were also missing a lot any kind of wardrobe to put your clothes in, also some small lamps in the room to have a small light for reading or just a more nicely illumination would have been nice. The normal light all the time was pretty annoying. I missed also somthing to turn the heat down. The heater always was on full power and there was now way to have a nice temperature without wasting loads of heat to the outside all the time. When I was asking the very nice woman said i should just open the window, but there's stickers everywhere that says you should safe energy for the...
Read moreI'd start off by saying if you want to stay places on the cheap in eastern Europe, favour staying in youth hostels rather than guest houses. The price will be around the same but you will get staff more willing to make suggestions on things to do in the area. ||||This place is really near the station which is handy for day trips (easy to get to sigulda which I'd recommend) but generally underwhelming at this place.||||The staff were rarely there, which may be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your point of view. Place tried to overcharge me by around 30 euros but luckily I had my booking.com printout with me. Not sure if that was an honest mistake or not. No real help from staff re stuff to do although tourist information were very helpful as they have been across eastern Europe.||||Shared bathrooms could do with a spruce up and there are no cooking facilities so overall if you're in the 28-35 bracket like us, then look for a youth...
Read moreI have ordered quadruple room, but when we arrived, we have received 6-bed room. We felt like a kings there :) Wi-Fi was stable, but sometimes slow. Location was extremely good, Origo shopping center was 5 min away on foot. The staff were rarely there (for us it was a good thing), because receptionist is at the hostel only until 7 PM. ||There is no A/C in the rooms. Beds are uncomfortable. Dissapearing light after 5 seconds of not movement in the toilet was annoying and stupid, because you must always move standing or sitting there if you want light always shine. It was very uncomfortable and strange. But toilets and...
