With only a few minor positives, my experience during my August stay at this hotel was substantially negative and I posted a 2-star review on Trip Advisor as such. My negative review and other similar reviews written by fellow travellers who also stayed at this hotel, all received a management response provided by the Hotel Director, Élina Gulbe, which said in part:
“Our personnel works 24 hours and we will be happy, if next time, you inform us about any questions or any issues having in the room immediately, as we are constantly working to improve our service.”
Since that initial review, I now felt compelled to change my star rating to “one” and write this additional review, as I have attempted via multiple emails to reach out to the hotel regarding expensive sunglasses I am now quite certain were left in my hotel room, based on the last photos I have wearing them. Contrary to Ms. Gulbe’s comments, neither I nor my tour company, who also contacted the hotel, have received any response regarding my missing sunglasses. Complete silence by management and staff. Even if I am wrong about where I left my sunglasses, Ms. Gulbe and her staff should be respectful of their guests and provide a response when asked.
So, in addition to the horrible bed, leaking shower stall, stifling hot room, grossly stained and dirty in appearance carpet...now add zero follow-up on serious client inquiries.
I strongly recommend you consider very closely other options for your...
Read moreThis hotel was a big disappointment. The premises are dark, old and outdated. The room had a weird bed, very low and very uncomfortable. I could feel the metal springs against my body from head to toe. I asked for a new mattres or at least something to cover the springs. Nothing was done after complaint. The carpets in the room were dirty and full of old stains. One wall was sprayed with some unidentified liquid and its spots remained. Old furniture. Loud noise from refrigerator. The booking confirmation said it was equipped with an iron but it was missing in the room. ||||The breakfast was acceptable but with limited selection. No honey or natural yoghurt. Only coffee from machine, not tasty. One day there was no jam in the buffet. The girl working the breakfast service explained that it was finished. When asked if she could maybe get some more she explained: "sorry i don't work in the kitchen". The breakfast room is kitschy and horribly painted.||||Good points: location was good opposite of central station and walking distance...
Read moreThe bathroom was stinking as if something dead was inside it, we asked to clean and it was cleaned and thry have added more chlorine but I am not sure if it solved the initial problem. The room we got was supposedly better quality. To be honest it is equivalent of between Motel 6 and Ramada hotels. The windows overlook the Central station and main driveway and I am truly surprised to find out that isolation of noise is very poor. Now, Wi-Fi is a totally joke it's about 1.7 Mb/s. Barely enough to read emails from foreign domains. Anyways, price is to high for what they offer. TV is from 1990, so if you want to watch movies in the evening you are out of luck: neither TV nor the internet can provide that for you. I guess you have to have your own movies on the laptop. 1 star for promised space and high ceiling. 1 star for prompt cleaning of the...
