Although this place is sitting beside a busy tram line, it is also sitting on the river bank, which makes for a great eating atmosphere. There are a lot of seats that are very well protected from the tram line, making it a great spot for sure. There are a lot of choices where to eat or enjoy a drink, so no matter the size of your group you can probably have a small area to yourself. The decor is also very interesting and adds to the stay. The service here was pretty good - the waitress was very nice. I will say that the problem started when we went to order. We were at first going to get pizzas - no dough. Then, how about the Traditional Cottage Pie - nope. Something else was not available, but I missed the item that she said. Next strange thing - the Bacon Mac & Cheese came out not at all liked in menu description (see pics) - taste was OK. Now I will say that the other meal, the Pork Shoulder Skewer, was very good, and I really liked their fries. Another point that may catch you off guard is that there is just one bathroom. If the restaurant is very busy, go when you see it open hahaha. Overall, I was glad we stopped by. I do see this place as an amazing spot to share a drink with friends or enjoy a morning coffee. I wouldn't put this at the top of my restaurant list unless their pizza is...
Read moreThe place is cozy and relaxing, terrace is heated during cold days and overall kasdārzā is brilliant place to have a coffee/glass of vine without a hurry. Good selection of beers in menu but when is visited it thy didn't have most of the list. Vine by glass is a bit pricey at 4/5 euro per glass but i guess you are paying for the view and atmosphere. Didn't try much of food here, but menu is on par with most of similar places. Dining here might look fancy and it might actually taste the part but it would be better to book one of the few tables that are actually suited for comfortable eating rather than sitting. Music selection is rather odd but not bad. Some fusion jazz, jazzy hip-hop sampling which was all nice and fitting the mood, but then there was some electronic stuff that was out of place. Four stars just for that music...
Read moreIt is a lovely spot located in a green park area in Riga, right next to a small stream — a peaceful and refreshing setting. The prices are very fair: I had an Aperol Spritz for €7, which is quite reasonable. They offer both snacks and full meals, including the well-known Baltic specialty of fried dark bread with garlic oil and dipping sauce — always a favorite.
We actually visited twice. The first time, there was a local musician playing live music, which created a really pleasant and laid-back atmosphere. Definitely a great place to relax and enjoy a drink in...
