NEO PALY HOTEL — Hotel in Borneo

Came back from Kapalai resort and stayed in Neo Paly Hotel in semporna. Location wise is good as it is smack right in the middle of semporna town. supermarket beside the hotel no longer a giant and has changed to Bataras as the one opposite of it. Rooms are clean and comfy for the price. Rooms comes with TV (no cable) bring your own USB or storage device, fancy metal cupboard, some amenities like soap and comb and a nice balcony. It can be a bit noisy during the day because there is a makeshift market down below but at night its very quiet. Whats good about this hotel it's the lobby area. Free pool table, free mini arcade and mini theater with beanie bags to sit on. Bar serve beer at affordable prices. Close walks to restaurants, drinking places and 7 eleven. Only downside is outside of the hotel during the day its very crowded with markets at the side and rubbish is everywhere and a lot rats roaming outside at night. Kids heckling day and evening... which we did gave some candies and snacks to them. ||||Overall its a good and new hotel 5/5...

Strategic location close to the jetty and all the shops and restaurants. Main entrance of the building was a little underwhelming with all the Bayao kids around hassling us.

Lobby was nicely designed with some board games and pool table and TV box for guests to enjoy during their stay.

Room itself was below average. The whole room was done with goods from Taobao that had questionable quality. We had the technician come over a few times for different repairs. And maybe bring over a pair of earplugs for the light sleepers.

However, I would like to call out Vincent at the lobby for his exceptional service. He went above and beyond in resolving our issues and even took time out during his visit to the church to sort out our room problem. He managed to change the room for us and continuously checked on us during our stay to make sure everything was OK. It's service like this that truly makes a difference and you just forget all other little problems with the room or the hotel. Great job and...

Do not get cheated by the pictures!! The room Is not clean, floor is super sticky, have to wear slipper everywhere u go (the slipper is also reusable so I’m not sure how many ppl has worn it). Air con is very noisy. Mouth washing cup is not clean. The toilet is smelly, guess is the ventilation not good as the hotel is placed on top of some shoplots. No sound proof at all, I can even hear the next room turning off switches. What makes me most frustrated is: the management of hotel should PROHIBIT PPL MAKE NOISE AFTER 10/11pm !!! They just let the other guest party at the lobby , drinking beer , playing loud music, talking and laughing loud. It is SO DISTURBING! Tried to call the reception for 10-15 mins but no one answer, walk down to the lobby, told a staff, went back to the room, still the same.
