(13/7/24 - 15/7/24): Cockroach Infestation
I recently booked 3 rooms at Paradise suite at Sutera Avenue from July 13th to July 15th. We drove from Lawas and reached KK at 1:25pm and since our check-in time was at 3pm, we went to Imago mall to shop first and finally checked in at 5pm. As I had 9 pax in my group, we split into 3 per room and were given rooms 705,805 and 905 (it was all 1Queen + 1 Single). My uncle, aunty and cousin stayed in room 705 and at 10:50pm my cousin noticed baby cockroaches in the room. We dismissed it as a minor thing as she only noticed 2 of them. The next day we went island hopping and continued on to the night market and only returned to the room at 8:30pm. Upon entering room 705, despite their initial shock last night and hoping it was a one-time occurrence, the situation only worsened as they continued to find cockroaches in various areas of the room. A large amount of baby cockroaches scurrying across the floor and walls and a few large adults ones appeared at the sink area. She sent videos and photos of it to me and I quickly notified the manager, Kenneth. He then replied via whatsapp that he will provide bug spray to combat the cockroaches. I then inquired if there were any other spare rooms to change as my family members were uncomfortable with the situation and he explained that he only had 2 single bedrooms available and a new booking is required for room change. This did not solve the issue at hand and my relatives continued to suffer throughout their stay. I relayed this message to my cousin and they did not want to make a hassle and waited on the bug spray to arrive at 8:50pm. Kenneth passed the can of bug spray to my uncle and stayed at the door. He did not even make the effort to inspect the room and insisting that it was the first time this happened. He speculated that food traces left by previous guests might have attracted the cockroaches. However, if the room had been cleaned properly (like mine at 905), there would not have been any pests at all. It was disheartening to see that the management did not seem to take this serious hygiene issue seriously. I regret to say that this experience was far from satisfactory. We had high hopes for a relaxing and enjoyable staycation. The presence of cockroaches significantly impacted the quality of our stay, making it difficult to relax and enjoy the amenities. We had expected a clean and comfortable environment, but instead, we spent the majority of my time feeling uneasy and concerned about the hygiene and safety of the apartment. Not to mention my aunty giving me an earful on my booking of this particular establishment. Overall, my stay was marred by the cockroach infestation, and I hope that future guests do not have to endure a similar experience. I appreciate any steps taken to improve the situation and ensure a better...
Read moreWe have spent three nights at the hotel and I would rate it as a very good. The location is not far from the city centre and the beach. We did not eat at the hotel due to higher price but you can use app GRAP for meal deliveries instead or shopping centre across the street where you can find many restaurants and supermarket. There is also kids play areas which are definitely worth of visit for families with little kids. In a hotel is a big swimming pool for adults as well as a paddling pool. We enjoy a shuttle bus running to the shopping centre accross the street and to the city free of charge three times per day. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Only things that could be improved is a cleaneless around the swimming pool and price of...
Read moreThe self-service apartment in is Lorong Ming Garden complex. It is a 11floor building that consist of two parts: the hotel Ming Garden which sign is very visible and the other part Paradise Suites which has no sign. There is no front desk or reception. So you MUST communicate with the management to get the right mail box number and the passcode to open the mailbox. Inside should be the magnetic card needed to use the elevator. Then there is another passcode to enter the apartment. It was the most annoying part. However I was lucky and it turned out to...
