A ban mian/Mee Hoon Kueh place with vegetarian options. Vegetarian Minced Meat with mushroom dried noodle - 幼面 option. Personal favorite and most flavorful. Note that the portion of mushroom/minced meat sauce is pre mixed and fixed regardless of noodle portion, was warned by staff that the flavor gets diluted as the noodle portion increases. Best with a small noodle portion. Classic soup Mee Hoon Kueh (Medium noodle portion)+ additional serving of Mani vegetable. Texture wise Mee Hoon Kueh is decent, but it's let down by the soup, which is very average. Mani vegetables are a local favorite, but it's very grassy in terms of taste, so individual preference will vary. Note: The non chopped chili served on the table has sambal, so it's not vegetarian. Note 2: Inform the staff if one doesn't take alliums or eggs to omit them. Egg can also be served in a separate bowl to pass to dining partners who...
Read moreSimple, homey noodle place. You get to choose from 5 types of noodles and there are multiple choices of soup and dry noodles.
Personally, I'm a soup person and I find their soup to be just right; not too salty, not bland. There is also a big portion of vegetable compared to other places, which is always a plus for me. Their curry rib noodles are very nice as well. Recently, there is also a tom yum-based noodle, which was also tasty.
Prices are reasonable, perhaps even cheap depending on where you compare it with. They charge different prices for different portions e.g. RM7.50 for original soup noodles, small portion.
Edit 1 (April 2021): Their curry noodles are no more 🥺 There is now a new Mala (麻辣) version. It's pretty good, just that the soup on the side is a bit salty that time. Not too spicy, fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how much you like/can...
Read moreI was here today for lunch. I was last here pre-COVID pandemic. It is lovely to see this eatery still going strong after all these years. Then, I always like the comfortingly good noodles served here. And today was no different. I ordered a RM16.90+ "Sayang Time" (or "Loving Time") set of mee hoon kway soup small, five spice meat roll or "ngoh hiang", and monk fruit or "luo han guo" drink. The mee hoon kway as before was very very good - the hand torn noodles were texture and size-wise just right, the soup was very flavourful, the proteins therein were generous enough for the price, and the sweet leaf vegetable was tender. The meat roll was delightful and the monk fruit drink was refreshing without the calories. Service here was very good - very helpful and courteous, and the dining ambience here was very comfortable - the seating was spacious and in...
