Empire Suite @ Times Square — Hotel in Kuala Lumpur

My wife and I had pre-paid £210 for and I quite a Deluxe Suite to stay for 4 nights at these serviced suites! All I can say is they must have had a famous photographer take these pictures to make them look so good on the Hotel.com site! Firstly we thought we would be checking in at a nice check in desk! Errr NO! Your met at the entrance taken upto the 25th floor and taken to a room which I can only describe as a large walk in Cupboard! There was a small desk and a couple of chairs where I sat down and did the check in! Where I handed over a 200rm deposit! We were then taken upto the room! When we walked in the room the first thing we noticed was a smell which we couldn’t quite work out what it was but it didn’t smell clean! It looked tidy! The main sitting area was small there was a single made up bed in that room as well, we then went into a bedroom area so was kind of open plan, then the bathroom was next! The sink toilet and bath were very dated as was most of the furnishings! The small leather suite was the most modern furnishing in there! We weren’t shown into the kitchen we were told where it was! Then the man left! Once gone I went to the toilet and from no where I noticed a cockroach making its way to the back of the toilet pan and then disappear! I then thought hmmm let’s check the bedding! So pulled back the top cover to find stains on the sheets and not just a water mark! Proper stains, I then turned the pillows over and sweat stains were visible! My wife and I then went down stairs to the pool bar area to discuss what we were going to do! We both agreed we could not stay there, so we checked into another hotel which was the Furama just around the corner, which was the original hotel we wanted to book but there had been no availability at that time, but luckily they had had a couple of cancellations so we booked into! Get this! An Executive suite with access to the Executive lounge with breakfast for £25 more than we had been charged for the very small, unclean and dated suite at the other site! We went back and spoke to a representative of the Suite sales team and explained why we were leaving and the their properties are well below the standard of a Deluxe Suite and not clean! I took him up stairs to show him, he said he could sort something else out the next day I said no I was not sleeping in the bed with stains and a bathroom with cockroaches!!!! No thank you! Stayed here for one night at the end of our two week adventures around Malaysia. Wished we hadn’t! ||Awful doesn’t even come close! ||We booked a number of rooms, however upon arrival, we were taken to the 18th floor. I was asked to go into the ‘office’ alone - three men then sat/stood around me. It was like a tag team, an intimidating environment, that could’ve phased some. It made me feel quite unsafe, with the amount of hassle we had checking in. ||I was told that despite booking a number of rooms, I would be given one less: but have to pay for all that I booked. I refused to pay for something we didn’t have. It took almost an hour to check in, and had to really battle to get the rooms I booked. ||Eventually, I just said I’ll take the one less room, due to being tired and needing to get food for the children. ||The men kept talking to each other whilst I was waiting, (in their language) so I told them I would be getting a colleague to come in to try and get this all sorted. Whilst awaiting my colleague, one of the guys said he found the English accent very sexy. I told him I was not English, and would rather just get the keys for the girls to enable them to settle and go and get food. ||The main guy on the computer, was really awful, it was like bartering for something at a market rather than checking in. It felt like he was just trying to scam us. ||The room|Smelt of cigarettes|Dirty; bathroom smelt unclean, room was fusty, there was a dirty towel on the floor. It was just unpleasant. The room was unkept unfortunately, as it could’ve been much nicer. ||The view was great, however after all the hassle of trying to get what we booked, we were all pretty much over this place, we had to rush around trying to get food, and were grateful when it was check out time. ||I would absolutely 100% recommend that you avoid this place. If i could give a honest rating of this hotel i would rate it a negative zero! Where do i even begin…

-To enter the hotel you would need a key card. We did not know about this upon arrival. Only when we asked the security guard outside they said we would need to call the hotel and somebody will come down to verify and allow us in.(This was such a hassle and very inconvenient)

-The main person that attends to your check in/out and other matters is very unprofessional.

-THE HOTEL ONLY ACCEPTS CASH PAYMENT?? Which was beyond crazy to me in this day and age. It was definitely very doggy!

-The hotel does not have a proper main receptionist or lobby. Which makes it very confusing for guests.

-THE HOTEL ROOMS ARE SUPER OUTDATED!!! Huge cd/dvd players and a tv that barely works. Our tv only played 1 channel: tv2

-No basic toiletries/kitchen utensils

-Wall decor and furniture are in bad shape. (Holes, bad mattress, peel on paintings)

-Kitchen sink and toilet are cracked and mouldy

-No room phone to call to contact the hotel if theres any enquires

-No house keeping attended during my 4 days 3 nights stay

-Wifi does not work at all.

Perks: Berjaya times sq Mall directly below. 711 conveniently located beside the mall. Near by mamak shop. Located near to the city (just walking distance). Partly nice view of the landmarks.

However would not recommend to anyone. It is honestly worst than a sleazy hotel/motel if...
