Mercure Kuala Lumpur Shaw Parade — Hotel in Kuala Lumpur

One of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in while I have been in Malaysia and my personal favourite in the 4* hotel category. I have stayed in several Accor hotels all around the world and they never fail to impress me with their hospitality but Mercure KL Shaw Parade manage to exceed my expectations even more. This hotel is quite different from many other hotels I’ve seen across this region because it really goes above and beyond for its guests. Whether it’s their sustainability approach where everything is different from other hotels from the bathroom toiletries to the water dispenser in the room that eliminates plastic wastage and is something I have not seen in any other hotel elsewhere before, all these small things thoroughly impressed me! They also make sure to give a proper welcome to their guests in Malaysia by highlighting the culture, heritage and Malaysian hospitality all throughout the property. I stayed in their Suite and was welcomed with a basket of Malaysian snacks and drinks such as Soya Bean Milk and a Grass Jelly drink as well as local Batik fabric items which I was so impressed by! Their artwork also celebrates local Malaysian Talent and I think that is great as well. You can also find a well known international coffee chain and ice cream brand within their property in their lobby lounge and I think that’s very convenient! The food at their lobby lounge was great both times that I dined their for lunch. One time I had their Chicken Chop with Spaghetti and Mushroom Sauce which was incredibly delicious and served in a generous portion and the other time I tried their Chorak Beef Burger with Fries which was just perfect! They also give you a welcome drink voucher which you can redeem at the pool bar or restaurant and I love how their pool has panoramic views and you can see the skyline of Kuala Lumpur. One of my favourite things about the hotel was the breathtaking view you get to see as you step out of the elevator into the hallways before going to your room. The uninterrupted view of the KL skyline is just incredible in the day as well as night! The breakfast options were quite decent and service was fast everywhere all throughout. Very friendly staff all across the hotel and very accommodating and I’d like to give a special mention to the housekeeping staff, Md Imran, for a very attentive and jolly attitude which is very good to see when you are staying somewhere as it’s the people’s attitude you remember and then go on to recommend to other people. Even the staff at the lobby lounge and front desk is just incredible and I really like how everyone was so friendly and upbeat all the time. The location of the hotel is great as one of the best malls in KL, Exchange TRX, is just 5-10 minutes away and you can also walk around the hotel to discover the area and see what is there to eat or see. There are many other malls in the vicinity as well. The suite is luxurious and perfect for those who are seeking a great place to stay at a reasonable price and want to benefit from the incredible facilities as well that this property has to offer. This is my first time writing a review for a restaurant. I checked in using my Accor membership and I stayed here for 14 nights. I always worried about several things before checking in but I wasn't at all. Ms dayang helped us a lot. Let me explain them one by one. 1. Before booking a room, I read many hotel or Airbnb reviews and often worry whether the hotel has a sewer smell. On the contrary, this hotel doesn't have that smell at all. 2. Although this place is not very downtown, Grab to KLCC costs around RM8-12, which is definitely affordable. 3. There are IccPudu (five minutes walk) / Wang Meiji BBQ (two minutes walk) nearby, these famous restaurants are definitely worth your stay. 4. The water pressure in this hotel is really strong. I moved to Singapore, but I really miss the water pressure in hotels. 5. The service staff of this hotel is really nice, especially Md. Mr. Imran helped us a lot, when I moved from Ibis on Prothom Alo Street to this hotel, I really felt like I came to a completely different world. 6. I didn't have breakfast at the restaurant, After all, it's very close to IccPudu, and I always walk there to eat. 8. I called room service and ordered a Maze Chicken Burger. It was average, but the portion was really filling. For one person, it was enough. 9. There is a massage parlor (natural massage) on the third floor of this hotel. I went there twice in just one week. The technique is really classic. I really hope they can give a massage discount to guests so that I can go there more often. 10. There is a swimming pool and a gym on the roof of the hotel, but the gym equipment is really limited. You can walk to nearby Lalaport, where you can buy a day pass for the gym. 11. There is a desk in the room for me to work remotely, which is very convenient. If I have to say something, the wifi is not that strong sometimes, but it is still okay for a remote worker. 12. There is a water dispenser in the room, which is really convenient. 13. Finally, I would like to give a compliment. The counter/housekeeping supervisors Mr. Imran and Mr. Atiq, including Mr. Figur Mr Bappy ,Mr. Rakib/ even every staff member I met while walking in the hotel, everyone took the initiative to say hello and smile.
