Restoran Nasi Kapau (Masakan Minang) — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

Food: Authentic bukittinggi cuisine, the chef is from Bukittinggi, West Sumatra. Rendang and jering are very well cooked, so tender Grilled fish is great, sambal red and green both are so yummy The sayur cempedak (jackfruit vegie) is delicious too, sayur paku and tunjang are so so Can choose any food we want by telling to the staff at the counter or can ask them to serve all foods, but serve all foods will be more expensive than choosing only what we want.

Place : It has limited seat, we come at lunch time, so there is queue, the seat full quickly The place is clean but a bit hot because it only has ceiling fan. There is no parking area We pay after eating but before seat the chasier will count the bill as well as the beverage that we order (directly say to the cashier when counting the bill) They accept ewallet and cash.

The price is just fine,...

I once saw this place was busy in the lunch time, so in the other days I decided to give a try. I am a big fan of nasi padang.. n this nasi kapau deserves a crowd (which it has.. so better to come before lunch time).

I’m Indonesian, so I have a good expectation on this. I bought it for take away… I ordered balado chick, kapau sayur, rendang n dendeng balado. Aside the rendang n dendeng balado, I’d say.. it tastes Indonesian padang.. I’m allowed minor differences, but my craving of nasi padang was paid off. Value for money also 😍

Unfortunately, I checked on grabfood.. seems not active. It would be easier for me if I can order it online.

Place wise also nice (clean n well maintained). For this level, it serves the purpose.

Just had another lunch at Nasi Kapau, right next to Restoran Sederhana in Kampung Bharu—always a solid choice for Nasi Padang in town. This place is one of my favorites, but heads up, it gets super busy during lunch hours. Tip: get there early!

Price-wise, it’s pretty fair and mostly depends on what you pick. I usually go for the dendeng, which can be hit or miss with the saltiness, but when it’s good, it’s really good.
