I booked The Colony Skyline Suites KLCC on Booking.com, and it was a disaster from start to finish. First red flag? They only accept cash payments. The entire check-in process was conducted through WhatsApp, which was very impersonal and unprofessional. There's no lobby or reception, and it's clear that these are apartments being rented out as if it were an Airbnb.
When we arrived, we contacted the property manager via WhatsApp, and they sent a rude staff member named Hassan to meet us. He acted like we were inconveniencing him. The entire property is not air-conditioned, and it was extremely hot as we were taken to our room. Once inside, it was immediately apparent that the A/C didnât work. We waited over an hour, but the room remained unbearably hot. Hassan made a useless attempt to "fix" it, but nothing improved.
Worse still, the room was filthy! It looked like it hadn't been cleaned at all. There were stains on the kitchen counter, coffee marks still visible, the inside of the fridge was disgusting, and the bathroom glass was filthy. The windows didnât close properly, and the entire studio had a foul smell. It felt like a nightmare.
I contacted the property manager about these issues, but they sent back Hassan, who again was rude and dismissive. He insulted our intelligence by claiming the stains in the kitchen werenât stains! The photos they post on Booking.com and Google are completely misleadingâthis place looks nothing like what they advertise. Itâs clear that the positive reviews are fake.
To top it off, when I requested a refund, I was refused. I had no choice but to book another hotel. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I strongly urge anyone considering this place to steer clear and book a proper hotel instead. This property is a scam, managed by rude and unhelpful staff. Save yourself the headacheâAVOID this place...
Read morePlease check thoroughly before considering to stay here. Parking should be for those who have card. But other people park for it. And it cannot be settle immediately. At the end you need to park at guest parking and need to pay for it.
We receive the wrong pin code for the door lock. We whatsapp them and they only pick up after 30mins of waiting but the person does not say anything and sounds like they dont even understand any language.
The room is okay. Except the tv cannot be use. Cant even connect netflix due to tv not compatible to use netflix anymore. The tv also shows google need to update. Aircond in the room not working. And the towel smells. The sofa bed in room is dirty. You literally can see dark spot on it. And the room is not clean.
The management is worst. Especially swimming pool. At first its weird why there were not many people. End up a lot of people got chase off from using the pool due to swimming suits. They only allow you to use the pool if you wear the EXACT SWIMMING SUIT provided in picture at the pool by the management. Even we wear MUSLIMAH SWIMMING SUIT we are not allowed to use the pool. WHY?! BECAUSE ITS NOT THE SAME AS IN THE PICTURE PROVIDED. (Also, there were a lot of foreigner who wear different type of swimming suit BUT WERE NOT ALLOWED TO USE THE POOL. WHY?! BECAUSE ITS NOT SAME IN THE PICTURE PROVIDED. One more thing, the woman changing room at the pool were use by man also. The security guard did not guard at all the changing room despite its beside the pool. When we told the guard, they say he busy checking people swimming outfit and did not pay attention at all. Despite he also sit very near to the it.
Lift is very late ya. You need to wait for 10mins for it to arrive...
Read moreWorst nightmare- janky building, sketchy host and terrible experience.
I booked through booking.com and was set to arrive on an overnight bus at 5:30am. I clearly communicated my arrival time to the host and when I arrived in KL, I got a notification that my booking was cancelled. My host said it was cancelled âby accidentâ so I showed up at the property.
There is no reception desk and I wasnât given any check instructions so I had to wander around the property to figure out which entrance to use. I waited in the dark at 5:45am with all my bags until the host finally came to meet me.
He led us into an elevator that looked like a construction zone, then down a hallway that also looked like a construction zone. Only once we got in the room, he told us that itâs not the one we booked and that we could only pay by cash. None of this was communicated in advance so we didnât have cash.
With one disappointment after another and a night of no sleep, we werenât happy and didnât want to stay for both nights so the host kicked us out back onto the street at 6am with nowhere to go. We had to walk around the area in the dark to find a hotel that could accommodate an immediate check in.
Needless to say, it was a nightmare and I wouldnât tell my worst enemy...
