I would give the room (one-bedroom apartment) a high 4/5 but the staff, management, and service are 1/5. I would give them a 0 if I could.
When I checked in, I was told that the system didn’t show that I paid even though I did. I told him to check again and he said there’s nothing in the system. Only after I showed proof of payment did he go to the manager and confirm later on that it was indeed paid. He was so unprofessional as well and seemed unprepared and inexperienced.
After checking in, I was impressed by the room but not the weird outdoor area between the lifts and the rooms. Still, the room was very clean (coming from a huge stickler for hygiene), well-designed, and roomy. Ended up napping only to be abruptly and violently woken up by the most annoying, scary-sounding alarm.
I, alongside other guests, rushed to the lobby through the emergency exit (12 flights of stairs, mind you) only to be told that, firstly, it was a test??? We weren’t even informed beforehand. Secondly, after some angry guests complained (some screamed in the lobby), the manager told us it actually had something to do with the construction on the rooftop. He apologised and promised to give us an update the night of or the day after, but we didn’t hear back since.
From 9pm to 1am, I could hear loud banging, moving of furniture, and shutting of doors upstairs, and on top of that, I was constantly worried that the alarm would go off again. Unsurprisingly, I did not have the best sleep.
At 11am the next day, there was drilling right above the room, and I also forgot to mention there was STILL construction going on even when we arrived. At 3pm, the wi-fi was down despite me having an important call at 4pm. COME ON!!!!
All of these happened within 24 hours of my stay. This is seriously such horrible service and management. Such a shame because the room’s actually nice and the location’s great, plus I thought it was well-priced for what you get (not anymore after staying here). However, I had to find another place in the end (the RuMa just a couple buildings down, which is more expensive of course but wayyy better value and service) and this wasn’t worth the money at all.
Overall, this was a TERRIBLE experience and aparthotel!!!!!! I’m livid that they opened knowing there’s still so much to be done to the building and to train up staff. Who the heck is management anyway? You guys are absolutely useless and you deserve every 0-star and...
Read moreI stayed at the newly opened Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur. The property itself is modern and attractive, but the service is inconsistent and I often seemed to be on the receiving end of the areas of improvement rather than the successes.||||Check-in with Asharaf set the tone. It felt clumsy and when I requested a late checkout, he flatly told me I could only keep the room until 1pm. This left me puzzled as both my Bonvoy app and the printed registration form clearly confirmed my 4pm checkout request. Thankfully this was later rectified by Arif at the front desk the night before departure. Arif is a shining star, professional, proactive, and someone who clearly understands hospitality.||||Breakfast was where the inconsistency became most obvious. On one morning, despite both of us carrying large briefcases, we were shown to a small table for two while larger tables sat empty. At the same time, I watched solo diners comfortably occupying tables for four. On other mornings, I noticed senior management, including the GM, making rounds, personally greeting some guests, fetching them coffee, and engaging in warm conversation. I was never approached once. Instead, I queued for coffee each day, and on one occasion the barista refused to make one for me and simply pointed me to the machine.||||The effect was not that I expected special treatment, but that I felt singled out by omission. When you sit in a room where some guests are treated with personal attention and others are left to fend for themselves, the contrast becomes uncomfortable. Instead of just enjoying a simple morning breakfast routine, I felt invisible, much less welcomed or recognised for my loyalty, and even found myself wondering if I had done something wrong.||||I also noticed housekeeping delivering amenities (fruits, chocolates) to other rooms while none were offered to me. As a Titanium Elite guest I had expected some level of recognition, but perhaps this detail was overlooked during my stay. The absence itself was not the issue so much as how it made me feel.||||This hotel has clear potential, but it needs to deliver consistency and ensure that all guests feel equally valued, not just a select few. Perhaps this is a classic example of trying too hard but...
Read moreWill go through the rooms first. I had the one bedroom suite and it was so clean, so classy and the facilities were all tip top. Tv is a smart tv and also the appliances like dryer washer is great. Had clean clothes back home. Loved that! Location is good and nearby pavilion and KLCC. About 5mins drive you can also walk. Great location
Breakfast is a must when you stay there! Loved it they even have a coffee bar and have a barista to customise and make your coffee. Their ice lattes are great even the long black. The variety of food is also great. Salad bar was lovely and the protein is a lot too.
But service is also very important so here is a shout out to the staff there.
On the first day, Ms Natalia was very welcoming at the bistro whilst Azmie asisted us during dining. Shah asisted us to bring our luggages up and made it as seamless and made sure we were welcomed well. Daniya gave us a warm greeting when checking in.
Roshan was welcoming and gave a great experience at the kids room. Chan was very attentive for the guests at level 7, if there were wet floors he made sure it’s immediately wiped. Yu wen and Siti were also very nice to my kids , helper and I when we were at the kids room. Super friendly and engaging.
Rifhan and Akmal were faces I remembered during my visit to kiapeng bistro for breakfast and dinner and they were very thoughtful on where we should sit as we wanted privacy and because we have kids they also gave us a space of our own near the window.
Chef Parthiban Nalillah, Chef Spencer ,Chef Dylan were amazing chefs. Chef parthiban made sure it was egg free for my babies, assisted in carrying our meals and also gave us carrot cake as well. For chef spencer and Dylan though it was breakfast and my son was craving for pasta and they took their time to make one for him though it wasn’t in the menu that day. They were so sweet to go the extra mile for my son. The chefs there are really professional and kind to the guests during our stay.
Mr Thunta was kind in assisting our bags even to our car and made sure we departed with ease,
Kudos to the Marriott team, please keep a lookout for the staff mentioned as it definitely made our stay memorable, I’ll definitely come back...
