A Stay in the Sky: My Experience at Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur
There’s something about waking up to the sight of the Petronas Twin Towers—standing tall, glowing in the morning light—that makes you feel like you’re truly in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. My stay at Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur was all about this iconic view, but beyond that, it was a seamless blend of comfort, luxury, and convenience, all wrapped up in a perfect city escape.
A Room With a View Like No Other Stepping into my Club Room on the 25th floor, I was instantly greeted by floor-to-ceiling windows framing the most breathtaking view of the Twin Towers and KLCC Park below. Being a corner unit, the room felt expansive, airy, and bathed in natural light—ideal for both relaxation and productivity. The sleek, modern design gave off a sophisticated yet inviting feel, making it just as suited for business travelers as it is for leisure seekers.
The Traders Club on the 32nd floor became my go-to retreat. Here, with the city skyline as my backdrop, I indulged in afternoon tea, enjoyed cocktail hour with free-flow drinks, and simply unwound in an atmosphere that felt both exclusive and intimate. There’s a certain magic in sipping a perfectly mixed cocktail while the sun sets over KLCC Park—it’s a moment you don’t forget.
Dining With a Side of Skyline One of the best things about Traders is how every dining spot takes full advantage of its incredible location.
Bara on Six: Where Flavor Meets Elegance
For a more refined dining experience, Bara on Six delivered. With soft ambient lighting and floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing the Twin Towers, the restaurant exuded a modern, upscale charm. My meal was a true culinary journey, from the freshly shucked Gallagher Oysters to the Dry-Aged Angus Rib Eye with truffle sauce, cooked to absolute perfection. And let’s not forget dessert—the Coconut Crème Brûlée was a tropical dream.
SkyBar: Rooftop Vibes Like No Other
High above the city, SkyBar is THE place to be for sunset drinks and a lively atmosphere. Nestled right beside the rooftop pool, with cabanas offering front-row views of the Twin Towers, this spot had the perfect mix of energy and elegance.
I started the evening with a cheese platter and truffle fries, then moved on to a Sky Sling cocktail—an infusion of gin, elderflower, hibiscus, and pineapple that was as refreshing as it was beautiful. The DJ played a laid-back yet upbeat set, making it feel like I had been transported to a chic tropical lounge—a feeling that stayed with me long after I left.
TheSPA: A Sanctuary Above the City It’s not often that a spa sits above a rooftop bar and pool, but TheSPA at Traders does just that. I booked the Asian Blend Massage, a treatment that fused Thai, Balinese, Malaysian, and Chinese techniques—and as I lay there, feeling the tension melt away, I could hear the soft buzz of the city below. The unique location made it a spa experience unlike any other—a perfect balance of tranquility and urban energy.
The Perfect Base in KLCC Beyond the incredible rooms, the stunning views, and the world-class dining, Traders Hotel KL is simply the most convenient place to stay in the city. A quick buggy ride (or a short walk) takes you straight to Suria KLCC Mall and the Petronas Towers, while KLCC Park is just steps away—perfect for a morning jog or a leisurely stroll.
Even on rainy days, the underground walkway connects you seamlessly to the shopping malls and transit hubs, making it incredibly easy to explore the city.
And when you’re done exploring? The rooftop pool, the well-equipped gym, and the yoga room with its stunning city views are there waiting for you.
Final Thoughts If you’re looking for a stay that captures the essence of Kuala Lumpur—modern, stylish, vibrant, and effortlessly convenient—Traders Hotel KL is it. From breathtaking city views to world-class hospitality, every moment here felt curated for the perfect urban escape.

Read moreHorrible hotel, with horrible staff!!! Give me my money back, scammers!!!
Rude rude people. The girl who called me allowed herself to use an unacceptable tone for the receptionist, it's terribly unpleasant!!!
The hotel staff is HORRIBLE!!!
A few days before checking into the hotel, I booked breakfasts in the room for 2 days for two people (15.01, 16.01). Upon arrival at the hotel at check-in, I paid for breakfasts for two days for two people. The time for which I ordered breakfast in the room was indicated in advance online when booking, and I clarified this several times at the reception desk and they assured me that at 9 am I would receive my breakfast in the room. The next day at the specified time I did not receive breakfast, I called the reception three times and only after that they brought me breakfast an hour late, and on top of that they demanded payment for it, which confused me the most, considering that the breakfasts had already been paid for and that they were an hour late. After that, I called the reception and asked to cancel my booked breakfast for the next day because I was not satisfied with the breakfast and the service of their hotel for the following reasons: - the staff is irresponsible (If I ask for breakfast at a certain time, it means I need it at that time and I have plans for the day, the hotel employees for some reason do not take into account and do not respect my time as a client, they believe that they can behave negligently for my money); - They demanded a second payment from me, which really outraged me; - The breakfast did not correspond to the breakfast that was indicated in the picture that advertised this offer. After I called and asked to cancel my reservation for breakfast for the next day because it suits me, they told me that they would do it, then apologized and said that they would give me a free breakfast the next day as a compliment for the inconvenience they caused me. But the most terrible thing in this situation is that no one ever returned my money, and the next morning I did not receive either the breakfast I paid for or the breakfast they promised me as compensation for the inconvenience. This is simply terrible and outrageous, It looks like bullying, they seem to be mocking me!!! I had a terrible impression of staying at this hotel! The staff is absolutely irresponsible, rude, and allows themselves to speak in unacceptable tones. I really ask the hotel management to check the words I said on the surveillance cameras and still at least return the money for my breakfast that I never received!!! The dates I stayed were January 14-16, 2025 (breakfasts January 15,16). Room number 2227. They haven't changed our water yet. They also attach a photo of the promised breakfast and what I received.
I warn you against booking this hotel because you will ruin your mood and break your plans, and there is a safe in the room, but they do not bear any responsibility if money or jewelry is lost from this safe. That is, if their staff takes money out of the safe that I locked with a code, then I will not be able to prove anything because they warned me, but this is not normal, as in principle, everything in this hotel.
This hotel is not worthy of four stars, a maximum of 2 and...
Read moreThe location of this hotel is the best thing going for it. That and the staff. However, the public areas are dated, very dated, you can tell that this was a late 70's early 80's hotel. The lobbies are all back lit marble. The lifts are dark wood and no panache. The rooms are fine, and I mean fine. Toiletries, the usual small single use plastic 25ml's of green, yellow or white turd that 2 and 3 star doss houses provide. The towels, well!! For 4 stars I expect 2 towels per person and at least one of them should fit around me!! But no, tiny bath towels, threadbare. And 1 per person along with a face flannel of a hand towel and a nut drier of well, a nut drier, not both, just one nut........ Again the bathrooms are dated, the showers are good, but the half arsed weird sliding doors are just dated, dated beyond belief, and the baths, yep probably fine for the Asian market but if your looking to atract European or American travellers, most of us are beyond 4 foot 10!! beyond that, the choices at breakfast are plentiful, 4 minutes if you want a roti, 2 if you want eggs, pick your timing for fresh juices or that seems to incur a wait also. However they do have a pretty nifty red card green card option for when you leave you're table for more or leave your table for good, nice touch. Bars? The Sky Bar is a bit of a strange one, by day its the hotel pool, by night, The Sky Bar, with a walkway down either side, a swimming pool in the middle, a distinct lack of air conditioning and music not befitting the ambience. Hot, sticky, loud, but amazing views of The Twin Towers. Enjoyable? No. Not at all. My wife and I having been out and about in KL all day, having had great food at the Jalan Ahor food market were just looking for a cool, quiet AC Cool bar to close down our day, The Sky Bar was the only option, and it was dire, and I mean dire!! Hot, sticky, noisy, sweaty but yet empty!! Maybe somebody somewhere is pitching at the wrong demographic in a conference venue hotel?
Would I stay here again?
No, it's a reasonable, worky hotel in conference land, right next to the KLCC (Kuala Lumpur Conference Centre) for those in holiday mode. And that is what it is, its a place for business heels to grab a questionable breakfast, head to a questionable conference, have a questionable (over priced ) meal and retire and repeat until the expenses run out. If you are here spending your own hard earned, do the research, find a 4star hotel worthy of their 4 stars. Not just simply because it's...
