Important to all first timer……I am expressing my disastrous Experience: Blackbyrd’s poor management and lack of transparency
I recently booked a reservation at Blackbyrd KL through an online platform, eagerly anticipating a celebratory evening with friends visiting from abroad. However, my experience with the restaurant left much to be desired, and I feel compelled to share my disappointment.
Despite double-checking my reservation with a phone call prior to our arrival, the staff informed me upon arrival that there was no record of my booking in their system. To add insult to injury, I was then informed about their convoluted booking system, where only reservations made through 'Table Apps' were considered legitimate, with a deposit required upon confirmation.
As someone unfamiliar with the restaurant and having never engaged with their social media presence, I was blindsided by this information. How was I supposed to know that reservations made through 'Table Apps' were the only valid ones? The lack of transparency on this crucial detail reflects poorly on the management's communication and customer service.
As a result of this mismanagement and lack of transparency, my friends and I were left scrambling to find an alternative dining option for our celebration, ultimately putting a damper on our plans and leaving us feeling frustrated and disappointed.
In addition to the aforementioned issues, I must emphasize the impact of this disappointing experience on my overall perception of Blackbyrd KL. While I understand that the restaurant may boast high food ratings, I cannot overlook the fact that my mood and anticipation were significantly dampened by the mismanagement and lack of transparency surrounding the reservation process.
As someone who values not only the quality of the food but also the overall dining experience, I find it difficult to muster any enthusiasm to give them a second chance. Despite their reputation for serving delicious meals, my taste buds were unable to fully appreciate the flavors, tainted as they were by the frustration and disappointment of...
Read moreHello Bro…Can you please make a cocktail that is not too sweet and make it smoky? Then next second, smoke salmon came into mind. Lol…2nd visit to this Blackbyrd KL. And, their services for this time were exceptional. From Jocky, Lobby, Foodservice to Drink service (Lounge area), all of the staff were like having a bottle of happy pills on that night. Even the songs that they played were spot on. Aww…We were considered pretty Lucky on that night!
Off-camera during dinner moment, just wanted to relax and enjoy the night! But here’s the list which leave you to explore (supposed to explore their cocktail, ended up having Whisky instead):
Plus, the interesting shooter drink - “Pandan Shots” on the house. And, most of our drinks were served by the bartender - Beckham (lol...I take it as it is, as that’s the famous footballer’s surname).
The bartenders thought we are from Singapore. I have reinstated - 1 Singaporean + 1 Australian = who just came back to the “Boleh” Land after ages of departure. Thank you for the great Friday night, 18/03/22!
See ya later, Ciao!
*FYI, reservation is a must especially if you plan to take the window seats with the KLCC’s view. Also, check on the time limit for...
Read moreWent there for a spontaneous light dinner before heading to Dragonfly. Walked in. Got a table with a good view. Asked for room temperature water and they started serving us two bottles of fancy water (RM17 per bottle) which I didn’t mind but it would be nice if we were informed by the waiters. Normally, restaurants like this one would preempt the customers by saying “we only serve bottled water” and that would be immediately understood. For food, I wanted to keep it light so I got the freekay quinoa salad and wild mushroom soup. Looking back, I was so glad that I didn’t spend a single cent more on the food there because it was disappointing, to say the least. The waiter told me that the mushroom soup isn’t the creamy version, so I clarified if it will be one of those earthy mushroom puréed kinds and he said YES. The wild mushroom soup was not puréed whatsoever, it was basically just clear soup with bits and pieces of enoki and shiitake. The soup was alright, I can do a better version at home and I definitely did not appreciate the wrong information provided. The salad came with a generous portion of feta cheese which you’re supposed to mix it with. I assume the cheese was directly from the fridge, the entire salad tasted freezing cold mixed with the cheese, it was horrible. It was hands down the worst salad I’ve ever had in my life. My friends were not quite satisfied with their experience but I’m only speaking of my own in this review. Poor communication between waiters and patrons, below average food. It’s a nice quiet restaurant with a spectacular view but unfortunately, the bad outweighed the good. Never...
