House of Wolves Hostel — Hotel in Langkawi Island

Copying my review from house of lion because they belong together and share a similar vibe.

Not sure what some people expect when they book here... For anyone who doesn't want to stay in one of the big bunker hostels, this place actually has a soul. Small, owner-run, getting to know how people on this island actually live, a welcoming vibe. Mantra and her volunteers run this and house of lion, you're added to a whatsapp group and there are often activities with both hostels. Also the kittens everywhere 😍 Other than that, comfortable, clean beds with curtains and modern AC, free towels, good shower pressure, tours and laundry service. Was my third and certainly not last time here.

As for differences, I feel House of Lion is a bit more cozy, better access to showers, a kitchen and free water. Whereas House of Wolves has the better location and more space in the common area. One thing missing here is free water, have to buy...

Pros: cheap, good location to good part of beach, AC and curtains on all beds, staff were nice

Cons: windows to the outside in our room do not close (bad for environmental impact of AC) and the next door neighbours burned rubbish overnight, causing our room and belongings to stink of smoke, bathroom did not drain and had a squeegee for guests to push water out of the bathroom, not enough shelves given...

Do not book this place! They charge you all kind of extra fees. Even for warm water! No keys to the room so basically anybody could come in.

Shower and toilet was terrible!

Extremely bad management!

The volunteers did their best, so they can't be blamed.
