Please God, I beg you take heed of these poor reviews. I have been travelling and volunteeeing in Malaysia for 6 weeks. In that time, I’ve had 4/5 insect bites. I went to this hotel and I am COVERED in bites and itchy sores. COVERED!! I sprayed anti mosquito spray like there was no tomorrow and it still seems to have made no difference. The hotel is filthy and I’ve attached pictures. ||I booked for 4 nights but bailed out after 3. I moved rooms after one night. ||Of course they have a “NO REFUND” policy which is convenient for them. Booking.com have been absolutely no help whatsoever as I was trying to sort the problem through the right channels. In the end they’ve kept my money and I’ve had to shell out for another hotel at the same time. ||||I am currently lying on a bed in another resort hotel smeared in lotion, this hotel is clean, tidy and not squalid. The bites and marks will act as a souvenir of my stay at MELATI TANJOUNG for weeks! ||||If only the bites were the only problem. The only place you could access wi-fi was in the lobby. When you click on “wi fi” there are at least 4/5 associated wi fi links that require passwords but the reception staff won’t give you the passwords. The tvs in the room require a hot spot or WiFi to work but there isn’t in any wi fi accessible in the rooms. ||At midnight the lobby is closed down and the lights are switched off plus the lifts are then no longer usable. So you get sent to your room which of course has no wi fi or tv services! I was trying to think of a time that someone other than myself decided I should go to bed!||||No restaurant or bar available but you can buy some trinkets or scarves. ||||The walls are filthy and marked. My door to the balcony had so many holes that I was a sitting target for bugs at night. ||||I looked at booking.com, saw the beautiful balcony view out to sea and booked on the strength of that paying extra to have one of those rooms. Room cannot except much as motel room only. But was reasonable size for 2 adult and 1 kid. King size bed provides, good pillow and bed. The blankets, bed sheets, towels are not very clean.. can see stains, doubt they are changing the comforter between customers or not. No sufficient cupboard/ wardrobe to keep clothes.. no small tables inside if u want to eat anything. No complementary coffee sackets/sugar/ creamers provided. Limited toiletries, only 2 small bottle shower gel provided. No toothbrush all. Cleanliness is definitely on bad side, even requested housekeeping always feel like the room not properly cleaned, floor still have many dusts. Bathroom is moldy, with leaking and broken pipes. Low water pressure. Bathroom floor like washed properly for centuries. Heater on off suis not working properly need to stuck with card to hold the switch, informed front office but nothing been done.
The kettle plug and fridge must be shared, so if forgot to plug back fridge then use cold stuff will be ruined. And the fridge is old and dirty too.
So so place only to stay overnight.. only good thing is the room have a direct beach view, and beachfornt..apart this nothing here..

Complained to booking.com straight away as the hotel have a “no refund” policy but lack of reply left me stuck there. Spoke to reception who changed my room but it was as bad. ||The one great thing about here is the amazing sunset views from the balcony. Reception staff are pleasant. Cleaning staff seem non existent. When I did spot them|One day they were sitting together having a chat. I understand people are allowed a break but they were there for a long, long time. |Cobwebs, dead insects and bugs everywhere. No wi fi available apart from in reception area. TV all in Malay so no option to watch anything on laptop in your room due to lack of wi fi availability, Lots of WI FI links available but staff just tell you no it’s lobby area only. |After 3rd night I left as my legs were covered in bites so I booked and went and stayed elsewhere. Obviously no refund given. The door to my balcony was full of holes so no amount of anti mosquito spray was going to keep me safe. Joe a hotel can have a “no refund” policy when the reason you’re leaving is because their hotel is filthy and infested?? ||Some two weeks after my stay I still am scarred...
