HOTEL E.S.M — Hotel in Pahang

We arrived in Cameron highlands at the start of a 2 week Malaysian holiday Tanah rata was packed and all the prices had increased. We tried a few places to find them either full or seriously overpriced. We were giving up hope when Nava waved us over to his hotel. He was very friendly so we didn't mind being plucked from the street. He offered us a queen with separate bathroom, although our room was the only one on the floor without a private bathroom so we didn't have to share. He explained our room is a converted kitchen from a block of flats. It was good enough for us and at RM50 it was within budget. After 2 days he put the rate down to the usual price of RM30. Very clean with fresh towels daily, shampoo, soap and toilet paper provided for our entire stay. Good free WiFi. What made our stay special though, was Nava- probably the friendliest service we've received in our 5 week stay in Malaysia. Nothing was too much trouble for him. The only negative things I would say is the hotel allows smoking in rooms. Our fan backed onto the corridor and would draw in cigarette smoke- I hate this. I and husband arrived Cameron Highlands on a raining evening where the road to the guest house i have booked was flooded. Hence we check out this one last minute, the friendly Indian staff told us only one room left is available but it's bit noisy because the water compressor is right on top (at least he's honest!) if we don't mind we could stay for one night first and the next day we move to a quiet room next door. ||||I was reluctantly moved in but the room turn out to be just fine - towel, toiletries, coffee tea provided, tv with limited astro channels, pillow and bed sheet are clean, pantry is downstairs. But do not open the windows and look out because the scenery is dirty and mosquito could fly in. Bring slippers because floor is cold. On the 2nd day they moved us to a more quiet room! The hotel staff was not impressed to be honest, be careful with the promise of the hotel staff as confirmed by telephone, the reality will be much different when we arrived at the hotel, so it stayed in this hotel as a minor accident for our family.||The bathroom was not comfortable going to make all hung a wet cloth.
