*Check In Nov 24th 2024 around 5pm was horrible. The female training the young boy should not be in the hotel business. ( no customer service skills or presence). We were disappointed. We were here a couple years ago for 13 days and really liked it, thats why we came back for another 11 days. We are Gold Elite Marriott Members and were not welcomed as one, not given any recognition, no welcome gift and no upgrade. We had a trainee trying to check us in and a woman with major attitude watching him. We tried to ask for upgrade. The trainee could hardly speak any English, so it was very hard to understand anything he was trying to say. The woman glared at us and would not say a word to us or help the trainee in any way. Not at anytime did either of them say HI, Welcome or Have a nice stay or even tell us what time breakfast starts and ends. We asked about the breakfast. We were finally upgraded which turned out to be pretty good as we knew what rooms faced which direction. Our room faced the pool with a view of the ocean so you can see the cruiseships come and go.
Breakfast wasn't very good at all. Breakfast time is 7:30-10 The first morning we went down for 9am to find everything gone. All there was left was small amount of cold scrambled eggs and beans. They never refilled any trays. What a joke each day was different as to when they ran out of food. Also they didn't offer much. One day at 9:15 all there was left was spaghetti. Really?? Who eats spaghetti for breakfast...ridiculous. About 5 days out of the 11 days we had an actually decent breakfast with cereal, yogurt, granola, fresh cut fruit, apples & oranges and pancakes, nice scrambled eggs with spinach in a light flavored seasoning and beans. This time around the hotel went downhill in every area. House cleaning ran out of towels for rooms on 3 occasions. I had to go ask at front desk for towels to shower because we were not given any when our room was cleaned. The only towel we got was shower mat and one face cloth. We would get our room made every other day. NOT ONCE DID THEY CHANGE OUR SHEETS fFor 10 DAYS. It wasn't until the 10th day that I took all sheets off the bed and pillow cases off to make sure we had clean bed sheets for our last night. The pool is nice but no o e cleaned it regularly and they never had towels like before, you always had to ask at front desk.
We won't come back to stay this long again. If anything, it would be for maybe 2 nights unless they do some major staff cleaning and actually be a Marriott Hotel and not a cheap motel charging high rates.
For a Marriott Hotel, where did the Marriott qualities go ??? Other guests even said "What kind of Marriott is this" and "I have never been at any hotel that ran out of...
Read moreBefore making my reservation at Fairfield inn Marriott, Cabo San Lucas, I did research. I am a frequent traveler and like to read reviews before a book. At best, these reviews for Fairfield inn Marriott, Cabo San Lucas were mixed, and some very negative. Human mind is designed to be more receptive to negative comments, which is unfortunate. This boking was done last minute, as I got the wedding invitation in the last minute too. I couldn’t afford to spend over 500 USD per day to stay at Pueblo Bonito Sunset resorts where the wedding is taking place. Moreover, I was converting the 3-day wedding into a week vacation with my wife. Fairfield inn was about 10 minutes away by taxi and centrally located for all activities. I will provide a frank review for the benefit of others. I was greeted by the front desk manager Miguel Avila. He made me feel at home immediately with his pleasant personality, excellent desk-side manners and professional approach. As a gold member, I also got complementary drink. After staying 4 nights (I have 2 more to go), I cannot fault the hotel in any department, even if I try hard. The place is clean, the rooms are very well kept, spacious enough to comfortably sleep a couple. The bathrooms are clean and shower is excellent. I am provided with clean towels and even bottled drinking water daily. There was no fridge, I asked for one and was provided in 10 minutes. The locker was working fine and I could keep my passports and extra cash safely. The breakfast is excellent and I am nor bored after 4 nights and looking forward for tomorrow. All activities and restaurants are walking distance. I was very concerned about crime etc; however, those concerns went away after a day. We are walking around all over, did 2 snorkel cruises, a sunset cruise and another one on horses and camels. I did not find any sewer smell. There is no night club noise, in fact it is extremely quiet and I have slept peacefully every night. A shopping place (similar to Costco) is located behind the hotel. There is tea-coffee 24/7. We sometime got takeaway and ate at the hotel dining area and the staff were helpful in providing forks and plates. A microwave is available, if needed. I will stay again here and will not even consider any resorts, which are exorbitant and overrated. I know that because I have visited two including Pueblo Bonino where...
Read moreMy family of four just returned from an 8 night Thanksgiving getaway to Cabo San Lucas. We opted to stay at the Fairfield Inn because of all the positive reviews. We figured we could stay somewhere else if by chance it just wasn't for us. This property lived up to our expectations and then far exceeded them. The room was perfect sized and so quiet. I think the newer construction helps with making the property so attractive. I need a good nights sleep and this hotel delivered. The bed was a name brand and very comfortable. The AC unit cooled the room instantly and operated so quietly. The TV was nice with the HBO channels and the global CNN. After days spent at the beach and fishing it was nice to have those luxuries to relax with - we even watched bits of couple of good movies. The refrigerator was fantastic - it keep the food and drink cold. The location is about a 2/3 mile walk to the beach and marina, or about 15 minutes. We didn't mind the walk at all. There were lots of great restaurants within walking distance. High end was Roosted and Ediths, mid-range the Office, the Cabo Villas roof top bar, and the Tiki Bar, and then budget was Wicked Pizza. We had a blasted eating at all these great places with all the money we saved not spending hundreds a night for a room. The BREAKFAST was one of the highlights of the stay! The spread was perfect - something for everybody and the dining room is so open, inviting, and well cleaned. I could go on and on. We enjoyed the pool and used the towels there for taking down to the beach every day. The workout room and the laundry also came in handy. The mix of people at this hotel were some families, couples, travel professionals (sales, pilots, etc), just a good mix and not a lot of rowdiness. If you are looking for a party hotel this isn't it. Don't get me wrong the patio at the pool area is fun and inviting, but nothing crazy. I read complaints about karaoke bar next store - hum when we were there it was really quiet and not a lot going on. If you're on a budget and want to get the most out of your stay then this is your place. Mucho gracias Fairfield Inn staff and management! Family...
