I was here with a group of 17 friends to celebrate a 60th birthday. We had a blast. We all enjoyed our rooms, which were very spacious with easy access to the pool and beach. My room was on the ground floor so I had a patio but I would have preferred to be on a higher level like everyone else to have a balcony. But no complaints about the room. The resort is in a great area ... close to shopping and places to eat. There are massage places right there at the beach (not affiliated with the resort ... 90 minutes for $50). There is no night-life at the resort, but there are plenty of clubs and bars nearby ... $2 or $3 per person taxi ride. There are restaurants on the property but they are pricey ... but the food is good. I had fish tacos which were amazing. We had hot dogs with bacon ... sooo good. Many in our party loved the sushi. The staff made our vacation even better. Cesar the bellman was amazing. He was always very helpful when our group needed taxis to get around. Elizabeth at the front desk was amazing and I was able to practice my limited Spanish with her (smile). Manuel (blue uniform) gave us a really great restaurant recommendation ... Maria Corona. We were looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant and we had such a great time there ... and the food and live entertainment were great. Thanx Manuel! Sandra (groups and wedding manager) was very helpful with answering questions my group had about the property before we arrived, and she helped me arrange for chocolate-covered strawberries to be sent to the birthday girl. Not sure if Sandra or someone else was responsible for delivering the personalized gift bags to the guests in our party but the bags were delivered perfectly ... no mix-ups. Pepe at the pool was great when we needed to order food and drinks by the swim-up pool. Carlos was awesome to work with starting on day 1 while we were at the beach. He set up our chairs and umbrellas and provided beach towels. And then when we couldn't go to the beach due to the storm at sea, he got us set up at the pool. Rocio sold me my morning coffee every day... she introduced me to Carnation as a sweetener in my coffee! It was soooo good. Ismael in the pool area was also great to work with. Very friendly and accommodating as we spent days around the pool due to the storm at sea which produced huge waves making the beach unsafe. We very much enjoyed our stay at Casa Dorada and all of us plan to go back again.

This place is SO LOUD! We literally have been sitting in the living room of our room waiting for this insanely loud party at Billygan’s or Milky Beach Club to come to an end. As it is 2am, we just traveled in today, and I have a work meeting tomorrow, we are exhausted and just want to sleep! Even with the doors and curtains closed, the music and annoying MC’s voice is blaring through to our room as if we are at the party. My husband is wearing ear plugs and it’s still way too loud. I’m very upset at the lack of sound proofing anything in this room. Especially at the price we paid to stay here. Never again! We have stayed here before on the 7th floor at the 1 bedroom suite and experienced annoyingly loud music during the day from the pool (Jennifer Lopez album on repeat) and also at Mango Deck they were celebrating Mother’s Day very loudly all weekend. We decided to take our chances and stay again at the 1 bedroom plus (2 bathrooms) on the 6th floor because we enjoyed the balcony views. Unfortunately we experienced insanely loud music during the day AND in the evening. The speakers at these places don’t need to be THAT loud. It’s excessive. If we want to be at the party then we’ll be at the party. These places need to consider the hotel guests around them. Next visit we will be at a different hotel that isn’t right in front of loud places like this and Mango Deck. Good luck trying to nap in the day or getting sleep at night before 3am, only to be woken up by construction and trucks at 8am. I might cancel my entire trip if every night is like tonight. Here is the Billygan’s Beach Club or Milky Beach Club party at midnight from our balcony (see and hear videos). How could anyone sleep through this?! Horrible. Some of the bell staff are very nice (Raul and Caesar were great) but otherwise customer service made us feel like second class citizens. The food and coffee were horrible. We walked to Bar Esquina to get decent food. Also, the front desk kept prank calling our room. Not sure what was up with that. I would pick up and then they would hang up the phone. Our next visit we will stay in San Jose Del Cabo. I’m hoping to be guaranteed and quieter more relaxing stay.

The staff was great!! They made sure my family members and I were having a good time, we were on a 4 hour resort stay from carnival cruise the buffet wasn’t the best especially because one of the buffet staff didn’t want us getting the food from one side the buffet, these were his words (i wont deny you all food from that side if you want it, you cant get it but i prefer you get this side only) I’m sure he was only following orders not his fault and the resort only allowed us 2 drinks included wether it was soda or alcoholic after those 2 drinks we had to pay, for the amount of money we paid i would think they would have unlimited drinks for at least sodas or juices. We also had small children they told us the children’s area wasn’t open for unknown reasons they told us the kids pool was closed its looked fine to me there were no signs of being closed as if the resort didn’t want to allow us in that area, but it didn’t seemed closed the day care area wasn’t opened either. Wasn’t really children friendly seemed like the resort wanted it to be a adult only resort and not a family resort. On top of that they charged $5 dollars for each life jackets for two of the 5 year olds we had in the group for some sun faded ripped strapped life jacket again not staffs fault even they apologized for the way the jackets looked they knew they were old and busted i blame the resort but they probably take it out on staff!! And last but not least this was something the resort had no control over, just one hour in the pool we had to deal with our first snobby KAREN over my children being happy playing in the pool, but I put her and her husband in their place and lets just say they left us alone 😄 with their fake smiles. Like i said the staff was wonderful the resort was good looking clean ect, The food could’ve been way better and they shouldn’t had to charge for drinks if its a all inclusive buffet or the use of life jackets but thanks casa dorada but i wont be coming back ✌🏽 One last thing the mango margarita was really good just needed way more tequila it was more of a mango smoothie 😆👌🏽✌🏽

We came here last May and had a really nice trip. We had decided that we would come here every May for my husband’s birthday. Our trip this year, definitely changed our plans. We will be visiting other resorts in Cabo.

We were given a room with depressing view, after reserving a room with a pool view. It was room 103, which had a view of a wall with a maintenance ladder leaning against it. Paola refused to move us, saying that "pool view" at Casa Dorada means "1st floor", not really guaranteeing a pool view. After much unpleasant interaction with the staff, we were moved to 207. While they were preparing a new room, we were told to wait in room 103. By the time our new room was ready, I was experiencing an allergic reaction. I have allergies to pet dander, so I'm sure there was a dog or cat in that room recently. Room 207 was a better room, but most of the pool was obstructed by the bar hut. We were told that the resort was at 40% capacity, so this was very frustrating. We felt very unappreciated, which is very unusual for a 4-5 star resort. We travel abroad 6 times every year and have never been made to feel this way before.

The layout of the room was fine. If you want a walk-in shower, don’t expect that here. We had a tub shower which was very high to step into. The fridge wasn’t cold enough, even after turning it to the coldest setting, to trust it to keep food safe.

Housekeeping was very sketchy. On the two occasions that we arrived at our room while housekeeping was in our room, one time there was a man in the room with the worker with the door closed and the other time, the worker refused to let me come in to retrieve an item. When we returned to our room later, she had turned our AC off and it was very warm in the room.

The pool was very nice! Emilio, our pool and umbrella aide, was top-notch! He was very attentive and anticipated our every desire. The drinks at the pool were inconsistent. The first few days, the drinks were very good. Then, they didn’t have much alcohol in them. We had to go to the lobby bar to get good drinks.

The beach is not nice. It was crowded and there were vendors approaching us every 30-60 seconds. We like to relax at the beach, but this location is not relaxing at all.

Although our experience this year was very disappointing, we did enjoy our days at the pool and the town of Cabo.

Update: After receiving a response from the owner, we have lost all respect for this resort. I'm not sure where he got his information, but it is clearly complete fabrications. They did NOT listen and become committed to finding us a different room as soon as we complained. In fact, it took 3 trips to the front desk and I was in tears before they even agreed to come to our room to discuss this. I asked them to come to our room and show me how it could possibly be a "pool view" room. It's easy enough for them to check their cameras to see that what they claim is not true! It is also a lie that they informed us that we reserved a different type of room on our prior visit. No mention was even made of our prior visit until I wrote the original review. We are completely disgusted with their response. Another instance of being treated with absolutely no respect. I will not be called a "liar" and not respond. They...

We stayed at Casa Dorada for our wedding on February 8. We have stayed there several times prior to this, always a great experience.||Our wedding was on the terrace with approximately 35 guests. The weekend was everything we hoped it would be, and more.||Katherine was our wedding planner, and we worked with her to iron out details for several months prior. There were personal touches by Katherine and the staff that weren't expected but greatly appreciated. Unforgettable.||Biggest takeaways from the weekend..... The flower arrangements were truly gorgeous. Far more beautiful and abundant than we expected. Big shout out to the florist.||The wedding itself came off perfectly. The minister we chose through the resort was absolutely perfect. His name was Diego Vidal, and we would happily recommend his services to anyone considering marriage at Casa Dorada.||Cocktail hour was enjoyed by everyone. The staff worked with us on signature drinks for the wedding, which was a nice touch. Besides the signature drinks, there was a full bar and DJ. Dinner was good, everyone enjoyed the steak, chicken, pasta, and sides. The staff really outdid themselves taking care of us. Prompt, friendly, efficient. And the reception with the DJ went off very well. Our guests were dancing right through the last song. All in all, a home run for wedding day. My bride and I were both very happy. Also relieved, because it was 13 months in planning.||I'd be remiss if I didn't comment on the rest of the weekend. The staff must have been told it was our wedding weekend because various people acknowledged us as well as the big weekend. The young lady working the main bar in the morning (I don't recall her name) was very friendly and welcoming. She stood out but everyone treated us so well all weekend and went out of their way for us at every turn, so I almost feel guilty singling anyone out. There were other staff members there that took great care of us during the Super Bowl party. Hundreds of people there but we never had to wait for anything. ||Last but not least, we probably had the best service we have ever had at any resort when we were on the beach. The day before the wedding my wife had 3 cabanas reserved for the ladies that were there for the wedding. She couldn't stop talking about how great the service was. The next couple days on the beach we sought out the same person as well. Good natured guy, extremely attentive, friendly, and efficient. I'm talking about YOU Jesus!!! What a great job you did for us. We will be looking for you in November on our next visit.||Once again, I really can't say enough about the staff. Very friendly and attentive and there were no exceptions. So, thank you Sandra, Katherine, and the entire Casa Dorada family for a weekend that exceeded our expectations. ...

We stayed in a one bedroom suite. The room was large and had a balcony that had a view of the ocean. However, despite the room appearing clean, the bathroom had a sewer smell at all times which was so bad that we had to close the doors to the bathroom so that we were not woken up by the terrible smell. The beach is swimmable; however, there are many people selling things walking up and down the beach. The hotel has a roped off section where they are not supposed to enter, but that does not stop them. They walk around the ropes and constantly harass and even touch you. This, unfortunately, makes the beach not relaxing. We chose to do the all inclusive option which was a bad decision. They came in to refill our mini bar after our first night there and proceeded to tell us multiple times that the mini bar items were not included in the all inclusive. They removed all items from the mini bar except 4 waters and 4 beers despite us telling them that we would pay for the extra stuff if we used it. We asked for two large bottles of water and they insisted that was not included in the all inclusive. We stated that we still wanted them and would pay for them, and it took them 15 min. to get the bottles out of the cart in the hallway directly outside our room. The servers at the restaurants were terrible and the food is terrible. We never received everything we ordered without having to ask for it multiple times. If there was a sauce or a side selection with a menu item, the servers were always confused. Multiple people in our party speak Spanish and that did not help with the confusion. For example, I ordered enchiladas with red sauce, and it came out with green sauce. The orders were never correct. Despite having a gluten free menu, it was VERY difficult to order gluten free items. The staff was not familiar or aware of the gluten free menu. One time I was told that they only do gluten free items for dinner. (So, if I can't have gluten, I'm only allowed one meal per day?!) Never have I felt like I was starving on vacation until this hotel stay. Room service only brought one item when we ordered three items. We had to ask the room service delivery person multiple times to bring the fruit plate and bottle of water we had also ordered. It was VERY difficult to get bottles of water. Only four 15 oz. bottles are included in the mini bar with the all inclusive, and they make it VERY difficult to get more (even if you are willing to pay extra). The bartenders were NOT friendly and made ordering drinks difficult. The bartenders never smile and treat everyone like it is a big inconvenience to make drinks. Overall, it was not a good experience, and I would NOT return. We have stayed at many all inclusive hotels in Mexico, and this one is very expensive for terrible service and terrible food....
