Beyond Hospitality" is part of Pueblo Bonito's logo. At Pueblo Bonito Rose, it rings true in every area! My husband and I just spent two weeks at Rose, and we had an amazing time.
We exited our shuttle from the airport, and Juan from the bell stand greeted us by name. He is willing to help us with anything.
At the front desk Valentine, Evelyn, and Berto answered questions and worked to fulfill our room requests. Our room was very clean; the king size bed so comfy.
Breakfast Buffet: Heriberto (spelling?), the supervisor, greeted us each time he saw us. Server Vicente anticipates what we might request and tries to teach us a new Spanish word each morning. We also receive great service from Evaristo, Angel, Alaudio, Raul, Luis, and Ulysses. Assistants Enrique and Marisol are quick to refill glasses and remove dishes. Egg cook Abraham knew my husband wanted 1 egg over medium to go on top of his hashbrowns. Idelfonso, who works to be sure the buffet is full and clean. Once he learned my husband like a serving of hashbrowns, he had the kitchen prepare one.
The pool food menu is fabulous, and the pool servers work hard to deliver just what you want. Gabriel, Isra, Pedro, Carlos, Roberto, and Jorge remembered us and always greeted us with big smiles. We especially like the pizzas, the corned beef sandwich, and chips with guacamole. The pool is very clean, thanks in part to Marco, who scrubs tiles and replaces them when necessary. Young Carlos works at the towel stand and will bring your area an extra umbrella upon request. Two pool area supervisors we found to be friendly and helpful are Israel and Alma. They were always checking to see if everything was okay.
The sushi bar in the evening is festive. In addition to sushi, the menu includes orange chicken, fried rice, kung po chicken, and a delicious dish called teppanyaki. The edamame and chicken spring rolls are great! Julio is the supervisor of that area and remembers us. Our favorite servers there are Ana and Samuel. We also enjoy Miguel, Adan, Mario, and Pedro. They know how to much us laugh. Yuli and Alma are exceptional food runners. I saw Alma carry a tray with 11 entrees on it!
The beach is beautiful and has servers through the better part of the day. Chaise lounge chairs and umbrellas are everywhere. We met Elia, the first female lifeguard at Rose. She was a delight.
If you are interested in booking any kind of excursion, Dago is the fellow to see. He helped us book a cooking class downtown that was so much fun.
There are usually two festive programs during a weeklong stay; Mexican Night and Latin Night. Special foods, music and dancing in a colorful setting.
We simply cannot say enough good things about this resort. Go ahead and...
Read moreI stayed here in August and the stay was decent, with some unfortunate business afterwards.
The rooms are older, but OK. The air conditioning air smelled musty, but I guess that's to be expected with an older system. The room was spacious, though, and I appreciated that the fold out bed was a foam tri-fold.mattress instead of a metal frame type sleeper sofa.
As for the amenities- the food and drinks were better than I expected. it was my first time going to a resort and we opted for the all-inclusive. There were 4 of us and we agreed it was worth it. The pool is HUGE and never seemed too crowded, though you have to get there very early if you want a lounge chair. A lot of people go out early and "reserve" a lot of them for the entire day.
The location is excellent. It is on Medano Beach, which is the only swimmable area in Cabo San Lucas. The water is wonderful. There is a private area with lounge chairs on the beach that is less crowded than the pool area.
We experienced five star service from the wait staff. The desk staff was average. And the front staff (the guys arranging transportation, etc,) not so great.
I highly recommend skipping the deal where you get a free snorkeling trip in exchange for sitting through a timeshare presentation at one of their other resorts. It was a long, heavily pressured ordeal and the snorkeling trip was really bad. We were taken to a cove where a ton of other boats were anchored. The water was murky, the bottle was devoid of anything and the only reason we saw any fish were because the guide was constantly feeding then bread. I only counted 5 different types of fish. You will see a more interesting variety just walking along the water at the marina.
What really put a ding in my trip is that I left my debit card in the ATM at the resort and someone must have gone in right after me and gotten it. I had over $3k frauded out of my account on one transaction. I'm battling my bank to get it back, but I contacted the hotel (I was told that there are cameras on the ATMs) and never felt like they were really trying to help. They told me that the ATM does not have a camera and that there is a camera outside but there are a lot of people coming and going so they can't tell. They never even asked me for my photo so they could match it to the camera. When I filed a police report at home, the officer suspected that it might have been hotel staff. If you go, make sure that you bring enough cash with you for tipping staff. I hadn't thought about that before leaving.
Overall, it served it's purpose and we had a good time, but the unwillingness of the hotel to help in a very serious matter left a bad taste...

If you are deciding between Los Cabos and rose pick rose - you can walk between the two in like one minute. Rose had much better pool service. Los Cabos quieter but their poolside service was dreadful.
Rooms are a little dated but still nice. We loved the room service. Bring pesos to tip.
We went at a quiet time and it was lovely, but it definitely took on a little more of a party vibe while spring breakers came close to the weekend. Not sure I'd recommend for kids but the little ones we saw seemed happy. There's a kids club but I never saw them.
Sunsets and sushi is amazing - get Samuel as your server. The buffet was good too, and go to Palomas at Los Cabos (Blanco) for breakfast.
The beach is lovely and you can swim but it's a little rough in the shallows and has an undercurrent. It's fine once you get past that. Beach vendors are annoying but whatever.
We didn't go to any of the paid restaurants but we did visit sister resort Sunset Beach. Skip their Mexican night buffet but go to Karaoke Monday/wed/Friday at the After. You can get tickets for shuttle (free) through app or with bellman.
Drinks were strong - just ask for doubles. There's lots of pool chairs but yes you have to play the chair game - I suggest going by about 830 am in non busy season. Pool was warm ish.
You have to scan your bracelet and "sign" for everything which is a little annoying but it's because not everyone is on all inclusive. I think they should probably fix this by just having you scan each time quickly instead of having it at the end and having to wait.
The staff are lovely - Samuel, Miguel, the man who makes omelets who I didn't see the name of, the hostesses at buffet and sunsets and sushi, water aerobics man, front desk - everyone is lovely and helpful.
We were too young for timeshare but if you're looking to avoid it - don't get the "welcome package" after you check in and don't get the "breakfast". You don't need to upgrade to anything here, basic package covers everything. Including a lot of name brand liquors.
You can see activities and order room service through app. Wifi is fine.
You are very close to town - about 10 minutes walk to Walmart and 15 to all the bars. If you want to take a tour I'd book online and skip concierge - you'll get a better deal third party.
If you're looking for good food, good drinks, a beach and a nice place to relax - you've come to the right place. Mainly Americans and Canadians staying here.
Non smoking - BIG PLUS
Thanks for having us! We will hopefully...
