My boyfriend and I came here on a vacation with a couple of other couples. We've been to a few other all-inclusive resorts before. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the property and would come back. With all experiences, there were good and not so great things...||Good:|-The service was great. Everyone was friendly and hospitable. All of the bartenders were wonderful and professionals. Special shoutout to Javier who was the mixologist at the airstream, and had an impressive memory and gift at crafting specialty cocktails after describing to him what you like. Also special shoutout to Oscar who worked as a bartender at Peninsula. He was so friendly and made some really delicious cocktails for us!||-The room was comfortable and clean. The bed was comfortable, including the pillows (and you can choose from a menu of pillows if the ones the room come with don't suffice for you - nice touch!). Noise level was also fine.||-The food at Pacifica was great. We found the food at Sunset Beach to not be as good quality, so would recommend sticking with the food at the resort. Though we did hear the brunch was good at Sunset Beach, but we didn't get to try it (there was such a long line that we weren't willing to wait in). We particularly loved our meal at Peninsula.||-Both a positive and a negative... the resort is quiet if that's what you like. Not just because it's adults-only but it also feels less "party party" than other resorts. There aren't many free/included activities compared to other all-inclusives. You can take the shuttle to Sunset Beach at nighttime to go to their "nightclub" called After, though it feels very Gen Z in there.||-Small thing but the wristband you have to wear to access your room and pay is "cuter" than other resort wristbands and more minimal which we appreciated.||Not so great:|-We didn't like that so many things had an upcharge. You're already spending so much for the all-inclusive fee, so it's frustrating to pay extra for many different things including activities, dining at certain restaurants (more on this below), and different cocktails. And the upcharge fees are HIGH. For example, an Aperol spritz costs $17 on top of the all-inclusive fee! We found that really surprising, you can go into town and buy the same cocktail for much much less... yet somewhere where you're already paying a high all-inclusive fee charges $17?! We also found it shocking that something as basic as an Aperol spritz wouldn't be included, yet something like Campari, which is technically more premium, is included. More examples of the upcharges... the price of a pickleball rental is obscene - a whole $50 to get 2 rackets and balls and reserve the court for an hour... and that money isn't a deposit, it's a fee). ||-You can take a shuttle outside the hotel to the different properties, like Sunset Beach which is down the road. The theory of this sounded nice and convenient, but in practice, it wasn't very convenient. We sometimes had to wait around 20 minutes for a shuttle to come by. ||-As mentioned above, some of the restaurants cost extra money to dine there. We went to La Frida which cost 700 pesos / person ($34). And we were pretty disappointed to learn that you can only choose a set level of courses. For the $34/person fee, it's a 3-course menu - one appetizer, one main and one dessert. We were very unhappy to learn this, as we had enjoyed trying multiple different appetizers and main dishes at other restaurants, so we were upset to pay extra and be limited by how much we could order. And in the end, we honestly didn't think this restaurant was worth the upcharge, the food was unimpressive overall, the other restaurants at Pacifica were just as good if not better. And for 700 pesos/person, you can feed yourself way better going into town.||-Odd thing to call out but we found the layout of the property bizarre and it didn't make sense to us. It was like a maze to get to certain restaurants, if you didn't come from a certain path, you would have to go all the way around in order to get to it. It was just weird and takes some getting used to.||-We get it, tips are important to staff members. But we did find that some employees were pushier about tips than others. When paying after a meal, they would sometimes show us the list of everything we ordered on the tablet and they would notate that we can tip them in either dollars or based on a % of the value of everything we ordered (the cost of everything had we not been all-inclusive). We found that a bit strange... we're at an all-inclusive so the concept of paying 10 or 15% of all the food and drinks we ordered...
Read moreOk, for those of you that don't know....there are 3 sister resorts, Bonito Blanco, Bonito Rose, and the sunset. Blanco and Rose are next to each other, and the sunset resort is 15 minutes away, if u get the all inclusive package you can eat swim and go to all of the 3 resorts. We stayed here for 5 nights at the blanco. The main reason that we picked this resort because the beach there is beautiful and its the only beach in los cabos that u can swim in, the hotel is pretty looking and is clean, the flamingos are cute and nice ponds of fish but rooms need some serious fixing and updating bathroom status is bad, no hot water in the shower, no water pressure, me and my girls would go shower in the gym which was a bit better than our bathroom Ac is extremely loud and was leaking, the beds not comfortable at all. As my personal taste The food in general was bad to mediocre, 90 percent of the food was pork we dont eat pork, the chef was so nice that he made us special shrimp and chicken and beef fajitas. The overall service was soooooo slow, keep in mind that u will wait for ur food about 1 to 2 hours by the Pool, beach or even at la carte. most of the time the buffet food was not good again my personal taste. special restaurants that need reservations u have to pay a cover charge per person about 20 dollars The service in the restaurant is extremely slow, room service was the only good thing because when we didn't like the restaurant food we would go order room service which was 24 hours but again keep in mind about the hour wait. The staff overall are nice but they need to hire more staff, they're clearly understaffed. The sunset resort is 15 minutes away so the hotel provides u with a bus to take u there but u have to reserve ur seat, there is about a trip every other hour and u have to use the app to book it. But they are always booked or full if u try to reserve them the same day, so we reserved one for 5:30, we got to the bus at 5:30, but the bus was full??, the driver said we should have come earlier, why would come earlier if we already reserved 5 seats for us, it doesn't make sense why is the bus full if we reserved seats. Also, if u want to reserve to go see the arches, they tell u there is one every hour, but as well they are always full. My daughter got stung by a small jellyfish. And they were all over the beach. No flag was up for the jellyfish nor was there a warning. We notified the hotel and they sent us the medic right away and he sprayed her foot and told us to soak it in cold water. Overall the beach is beautiful, the hotel needs updating, the food is not good, the service is soooooooo slow the pool ok, nothing special. Thank God for room service it was good to have a backup meal or snack. Nothing for the kids to do, no kids club, no kids pool, no kids playground. BTW if ur flight is after check out time which is 11, and u think u can hangout and have some drinks or eat at one of the restaurants while u wait for ur flight....you can't because they will cut off your wifi and all of ur all inclusive access at checkout time which is kinda cheap considering how much we paid and that the fact that when we checked in it was passed lunch time. Of all the all inclusive resorts I've been in this is the first time this has happened, usually resorts allow u to have drinks and food especially if u have little kids with u. So nope I wouldn't come back to...
Read moreWe stayed 4 nights at this resort. Overall I would rate it a 3/10. It’s definitely NOT a 5 star luxury resort. The rooms are dated and feel dirty. The showers are small and the water pressure is weak. The shower curtain ends up touching you during showers which is gross! The bed sheets had stains and so did the towels. The sliding door handle looked like it was about to come off and the mini fridge had scuffs on it. The mattresses are extremely firm and dated. The service was hit or miss. We had good service at Cilantros one night with Raul as our server. We went again another night and the quality of the food was different and so was the service. Also a lot of the time they didn’t get the food orders right and the food came out cold. You are able to use the restaurants and pool in Pueblo Bonito Rosè as well. The Mares Nostrum restaurant provided a breakfast buffet as well as dinner at Rose. The quality of the food was mediocre. For example, the crepes were cold at the buffet. They also had canned fruit at the buffet, which was odd considering Mexico has the best fruit. They also had fresh fruit but it was just limited to watermelon and melon. It seems like they take a lot of short cuts. This might be a good resort for someone’s first time, but other resorts in Cabo are definitely better (secrets, marquis, grand velas, etc). You are able to also go to Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach. That resort seemed newer, however you need to wait for a Golf Cart to take you around the resort. I also didn’t like how they had a couple of restaurants with cover charges and also extra charge for certain things at “The Market.” I understand that hotels in Mexico have restaurants with cover charges, but the food at the other restaurants is still good, that wasn’t the case here. The “all inclusive” restaurants had mediocre food options. The pool at Rose had broken and missing tiles, not sure how they are able to pass as a 5 star resort. The rooms only had shampoo and conditioner with no body wash( only bar soap) and no other amenity kits. The service at the pool was also very slow at Blanco because all the food comes from the Rosè side. We had a luxury ocean suite but the “futon” or pull out bed was extremely uncomfortable and uneven so we asked for a roll away bed. This request took 2 hours to get addressed by the way. Their service during the evening / night hours is very slow and I believe there is a language barrier. Another thing that was odd is that the all inclusive service and wifi access ends at check out. All the other hotels we have stayed at in Mexico have not had this. The beach access is nice until you get overwhelmed with the people at the beach trying to sell you stuff right and left. There are beach chairs on the beach but you have a view of the people trying to sell you stuff the whole time as well as...
