We will not be returning to Club Cascadas again. The week we just suffered through was incredibly awful, from start to finish. The myriad of issues are many, but the main issue is the sudden down turn in professionalism and the quality of the Cascadas property in general. We own properties at both Club Cascadas Cabo and at Ocho Cascadas in Puerto Vallarta. The management and caliber of guests at Ocho are heads above Cabo. We have owned two units at Cabo since they opened in '99. We have always enjoyed our stays. The Giddings company, in Cabo, is completely in the toilet now. We were treated to our unit being next to two separate complete renovations. Competing jackhammers and construction noise 7 days a week (Si, sabado y domingo, as well); from early morning to 6 p.m. Pounding, banging, machines, work crews hollering, and dust - so much concrete dust. We were never offered an alternate quiet unit or discounted fees, during the construction phase, nor had we been properly alerted to being surrounded by very close construction sites. It was an untenable din.
We have had a smaller Perlita for sale for some months, now. We discovered why it wasn't "showing well." Our For Sale unit has been used as a smoke-break area for the construction crew and stuffed to the rafters with no less than 20 mattress. Our For Sale unit has been a storage unit for their massive renovations. Had we not gone down, we would have never known. This is totally unacceptable and we were very happy we hadn't brought down the rest of the family, as there was no room at our inn, so to speak. When we spoke to Felix about it, he appeared to be sympathetic. This, later, turned out to be completely false.
I almost ended up in hospital, after nearly falling in a massive water spill from an overnight malfunctioning air conditioner. It had run down the wall, from the third floor, soaked one suitcase, the entire couch, the cow rug, ran into the main living room floor, then out to the pool. I came across this lake, with a cast on my leg already, in the dark. I was hurt in the near-fall, but it was minor. The new 'improvements' to our unit (which we've owned for 20+ years) have left it with no airflow, an incredibly stuffy and hot upper master bedroom and a big loss of the charm it once had. We are selling it all now. The caliber of guests and families has also taken a big nose-dive.
Initial concerns , emailed to Alfredo, fell on deaf ears for a few days (all the while, we were treated to the heavy construction noise). Eventually, Felix showed up, fielded concerns and left. Not a danged thing was done. We weren't offered apologies, compensation, or an offer to move to a quieter unit. Once the concerns and complaints were lodged with Felix, the retaliatory vibe began. Our cleaning staff really started to phone it in: We didn't receive fresh sheets when our linens were changed, no more foot towels for the showers and pool, no garbage bin liner in the kitchen, dead roaches in downstairs bathroom, and no more loo roll for the main floor. We had to grab TP from downstairs. At checkout, there were charges on our bill that had been charged, erroneously, to our unit. We explained we didn't purchase the alcohol and wouldn't be paying for it. Rather than believing resident owners of 30+ years with the Giddings Cascadas properties, they chose to bicker about it - choosing to believe we were lying and trying to get one over on them. That was the cherry on our week from hell with Club Cascadas.
We seriously doubt the Sales Team will be falling over themselves to sell our unit - it all ended on a very sour note. We loved, loved, loved Ocho and the Giddings' properties for years. This, sadly, is no longer the...

Read moreWe have had what I would have to say the worst vacation experience with a resort ever. My husband and I own a scuba liveaboard and cater to guests from all over the world. Our vessel departs from Cabo and we decided to do a time share exchange and stay for the week. Club Cascadas was available so here we are. We had two couples over for dinner last night. One of the gentlemen runs the hyperbaric chamber in Cabo, his wife is a professor and the other couple run the pirate boat in town that does snorkel and sunset tours. We were sitting out on the patio having coffee and cheese cake. We had Andrea Bocelli playing softly from an iphone while one of the couples grandsons slept on the couch. It was a calm and very relaxing ambiance. Security shows up and says that we have to quite down because there is an old couple a building away that is trying to sleep. (his words). It is 9:30 pm. We explain that we are not being noisy and he is very belligerent. He says that all guests must be gone by 10:00.pm. He is telling me this in front of my guests. Well needless to say this was extremely embarrassing. After this everyone is uncomfortable and we finish our coffee and cheesecake and proceed to bring this back into the unit. He was back and 10:00. I tell him we are wrapping it up and then he is back at 10:15 to escort my guests out. Security was rude and used absolutely no common sense. While my husband and I are accompanying our friends to there vehicles we notice the resort is like a tomb. Not one person at the pool, all the lights off and then in the distance I see security talking to four people who are sitting at there patio playing cards. I felt we were harassed and will never stay at Club Cascadas again. This was not a vacation resort it felt like a hospital with visiting ours and a rude...
