Friendly, well located hotel, about a block from the market and 1/2 block from Rio Cuale. It's 4-5 blocks in from the malecon, so for me close enough. I'm not a beach person, so I much prefer proximity to great shopping and good restaurants! |This was my second stay at the Porto Allegro. I was given a lovely corner room, with a small balcony and lots of windows with pull down shades. The room had excellent AC, coffee maker, two bottles of water daily, and a fridge. The bathroom was clean, with a shower and thoughtful toiletries , like a pack of tissues and a sponge, along with the usual items. |The hotel has a restaurant upstairs that serves a nice breakfast to order. The only downside I can even think of is that the elevator is small and a bit slow. But they have an elevator!|All of the staff have been very kind and helpful without being intrusive. I recommend this small hotel if you prefer something traditional, clean, and welcoming. I expect to return again...
Read moreAmazing staff that helped us out both at work and on their own time. Breakfast was hot, flavorful, and plentiful, with staff that anticipated our needs. We had 2 rooms, one with a view of the church and mountains and one with a view of the building next door. Request a view if that is important to you. The cool jacuzzi on the roof top patio was great for an afternoon dip to cool off, with sunny and shady places to lounge and read a book. Rooms were very clean with new towels and sheets, the beds were a little soft for my liking but that is really the only down side to our 2 weeks there. We loved being downtown and within walking distance to so many shops and close to buses for excursions. Bring ear if you are easily woken because there is a church bell that rings throughout the night and you are downtown in a busy city with a very busy night life. We will definitely be back here as we now consider it our home away...
Read moreA cozy, good family feeling and well located hotel. We enjoyed every single of our eight day stay. The staff was always kind, friendly and ready to assist. The staff at the restaurant was super fast and friendly. The rooms are updated comfortable and clean. We stayed at the 4th floor and enjoyed a great view of the east green hills. The restaurant and small pool are located at the roof top. Great city views day and night. Front desk staff is great, fully bilingual and a young gentleman even fluent in Japanese. They offer you nice beach towels for the day if needed. The breakfast is very complete, offering a different main course every day. My favorite was the minced beef with vegetables. Pancakes are served every day and they are amazing. Cannot wait to return. Thank...
